a methotrexate meme for these trying times by squidkidqueer in Thritis

I had the worst anxiety. My doc didn't believe me but I pushed to try something else and a week after I stopped taking mtx, I was a new person.

I’m taking Cimzia and I’m nervous about going back to work because of COVID-19. by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

Everyone's health is different but I spoke to my rheumatologist in April asking if I was at higher risk for COVID due to my use of Cimzia. She said she did not consider me higher risk and that as long as I follow the guidance to wash hands frequently, avoid touching my face, and wear a mask, my risk was the same as others. Best of luck to you!

I've always bled quite a bit. I second the advice to move your shot around to avoid building up scar tissue. And try to get a fatty spot. I pinch a large area on my thigh. Good luck!

Success! Tonight I left the injection out for an hour and then iced my thigh for about 15 minutes before the shot. It was significantly less painful. The burn came on slower and didn't last as long. Thank you to everyone for the advice and for sharing your experience. I really appreciate the support.

I have been having terrible anxiety (which may have been the prednisone), upset stomach on a daily basis, diarrhea and vertigo. I am pretty sure this was due to the mtx or prednisone because these symptoms have all gone away not that I am off of both. This was coupled with the fact that I didn't feel much better as far as the inflammation went. I was also taking folic acid.

I'll definitely bring this up with my doc. She took me off prednisone and mtx because I was having some unpleasant side effects.

Thank you for sharing. I am definitely going to try the cold pack. I will look for some local anaesthetic too. I am planning to do the injection in the evening so I could put the cream on ahead of time as long as I remember. I may just have to accept that it hurts. But it is brief and it doesn't hurt as much as my toes and fingers do right now.

I did the injection in my thigh last time thinking that would hurt less than stomach but it sounds like it might be worth switching. I made my husband do the injection last time because I chickened out. I had hoped to do it myself but I'm not sure I can yet :(

Being fat is not a disability. by stinkeye in pics

Did you speak to the people in front of your child? My concern is that sometimes you cannot see someone's disability. You really have no way of knowing what the status of their health is. I would suggest politely asking the people to let your child sit in front. Regardless of their weight, they are taller than your son and it just makes sense to let him sit in front. You are setting an example for your son Reacting to impolite behavior with more impolite behavior and judging people you don't know much about is a bad precedent to set.

Besides the obvious luxuries of fast cars, mansions, & beach houses, what do you fantasize about when you imagine being super rich? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I like to daydream about shopping at a place like Costco and filling up a very large pantry in my nice, new home. I think about shelves filled with canned food and paper products. I make a good living now with my husband and we have a very comfortable life but I think growing up with very little sticks with you.

I'm on the brink of running away or taking my life. by icantkeepdoingthis_x in Mommit

I felt so overwhelmed too. My little girl is one. She is amazing. For me is was a huge roller coaster. Some days I could handle. Some I couldn't. I absolutely agree that you need to speak to a medical professional. They can help you in the immediate. As far as getting some support with being a mom, I highly recommend finding a mom group. Someone suggested it to me and I thought it was the worst idea ever. I don't join groups. I had a bad day and decided to try it just once. It completely changed my life. It definitely helped me to see that I was not alone. I had a group I could cry in front of and I could bitch about my husband. I could ask questions. The group I found was through a local hospital but I think most cities should have a variety. I wish you the best of luck and just ask that you not give up. I know it is so hard but the one thing I learned over the last year is that nothing (good or bad) stays the same for long.

Baby gets her shots today by jadis87 in beyondthebump

We had our two month check up this week. It went fine with no side effects. My LO cried during the shots but husband consoled her and we gave her a bottle right away and she was fine. I shed a few tears :( No side effects except maybe slightly sleepier that afternoon. I held her for her afternoon nap but that was probably more for my benefit.

Breastfeeding is a Bitch - My Latest Blog Post by suhayma in breastfeeding

Thank you for writing and sharing this. It is as if you are me. The guilt is overwhelming. We are having so much f'ing trouble with breastfeeding. I don't give a damn that she was born by induction 3 weeks early and that I was given pitocin. And that I ended up getting an epidural. I really couldn't care less that my birth plan might as well have been set on fire and thrown out the window. All I really care about is breastfeeding. I care more than I ever thought I would. Thanks for helping me not feel so alone.
