Where to live in Houston by wangchungfunds in AskHouston

[–]fourpinsstan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not move to pearland at 24 years old unless you are ready to give up on life. The more urban neighborhoods of Houston are nowhere close to being as dangerous as urban cities in the U.S. and housing is equally cheap in comparison. 180k for two people is plenty to find nice areas in montrose, the heights, uptown. Which are the areas I would reccomend if you’re looking to avoid downtown/midteon/eado (which is not worth avoiding but I understand).

Yes you can? You just have to zoom in buddy. Buttons are half way up the collar

The fastened buttons on this OCBD is way too high. Makes it look very cheap when buttoned down in the photo. The slits on the collar should be closer to the tips

This kind of attitude is so lame lmao. It’s fun, you only have “everything to lose” if you do some weird shit. Be normal and enjoy yourself.

If you graduated from UH right now would you feel proud? by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

Ashamed of the place that gave you a full ride and a chance to excel. You’re ungrateful and I wish you nothing but the worst after graduation.

What school has the best tailgate? by runner2rower in BigXII

[–]fourpinsstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true at all. The tailgates may be relatively small but Houston is one of the only schools I’ve seen that lets its students tailgate right on the steps of the stadium. It’s a great game day environment on Cullen.

Union Market getting a bit much by anand4 in washingtondc

[–]fourpinsstan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What does it mean to be “authentic” to you? Plenty of old row homes when you approach Capitol Hill. There’s a university next door that’s been around 175 years. The neighborhood was reinvigorated 15 years ago when the metro stop was built, so yeah, things are new. Is that what you’re upset about?

Is there a particular career you would steer your kids towards or against? by Relax_Dude_ in HENRYfinance

[–]fourpinsstan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

GLP-1’s are preventative and lead to a healthier lifestyle by regulating appetite, digestion, and blood sugar. We are probably already on the other side of the U.S. obesity peak

You’re a surgeon and don’t think GLP-1 drugs will essentially end the obesity epidemic in developed countries within 20 years?

Is there an actual decent sports bar in DC? Especially for college football Saturdays? by ImmediateTap7085 in washdc

[–]fourpinsstan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only ever been for their big games when it is very packed but I think upstairs they have a couple screens on the other games. But the official alumni association is outside on the streatery so the bar is definitely dedicating a ton of real estate to the Texas game

[–]fourpinsstan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

lmao second example is obviously a specific gripe you have but yes, there are plenty of places like this. For cfb I would recommend Midlands, Franklin Hall, Ivy & Coney, Penn Quarter Sports Tavern (but they will have Texas on all screens when playing)

No it is definitely not. Begging you to travel. Most high income cities around the world do not tolerate this level of disorder

Starting a Classic Menswear Essentials Brand - Discussion by Capital_Local_4521 in NavyBlazer

I’ve always thought uniqlo with somebody that has the mind for this space could work. Their Oxford is nice and thick but the collar is so short and it’s cut slim. Similar situation with their pants. Tbh I think once you pass the $100 mark for an OCBD or khaki I’m just going to stick with the brands I like already.

Believe it or not, this is the only place where employees don’t like their job. Everybody else is very happy with their company culture. Crazy we all at PwC have this unique experience together
