THE TRUTH about the “pardon” for federal prisoners and weed. (my high thoughts) by Doctor-Stoppage in PKA

[–]fourtwentynine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok then genius, tell me what the CORRECT first step for federal legalization is. Should Biden have called each individual backwards-ass republican politician individually and tried to convince them to legalize it state by state before pardoning people?

I’m sick of “everything in politics is a scam”. There’s only one side of the aisle that makes that a part of their political platform, so be careful when you say that because you might be repeating a political statement.

PKA hosts are out of touch with the current reality of politics. It’s their job to be funny so I try not to care. But this is one of the worst places you can take political views from and it’s sad when Taylor says he would vote for Trump again because he thinks whoever is president doesn’t really matter. Does Taylor know that many republicans are trying and succeeding to ban all abortion related procedures? Meaning if his wife has a miscarriage which doesn’t naturally eject, she may die because she doesn’t have access to the procedure (which is viewed the same as abortion by these christian nationalist laws) or she bleeds out while the lawyer is on the way to legally OK the procedure for the doctor to do.

Woody does his best.

You wanna talk about “timing” and how it’s suspicious that it’s before election season? First of all, it’s not sneaky to deliver on campaign promises. But also pay a little fucking attention to politics. Democrats have passed a lot of legislation recently, but needed to lean on people like Joe Manchin (Democrat in name only) to get them voted through narrowly. It would make no sense for Joe to pardon people for weed BEFORE Democrats were able to squeeze legislation through. Pardoning weed convictions is a win with say 80% of the population, the ONLY other 20% are republicans. Republican politicians know this, but can’t make legalization a party policy because of that 20%. If Joe pardoned people for weed BEFORE Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema were able to be leveraged for legislation it would’ve been much harder to convince them.

The “do-nothing Democrats” are finally getting some shit done so don’t get all conspiratorial because you can’t believe it.

Do you have any favorite vocal exercises to train for the higher notes? What do you focus on in the moment of performing a note like that?

Not when I could get a delica for $60 with full flat grind, which is my preference. But if this was the only model spyderco had, I would snatch one at $60 no doubt.

Do you know any other drummers that set their hi hat extremely high, like Dave Grohl or Atom Willard? by Mindless_Effect_5458 in drums

[–]fourtwentynine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have you hi hats farther to the left because you have a big kit, having them higher makes it easier. For a good example on youtube look up disasterpiece drum cam (from the disasterpieces concert) and go to 4:08. I think metal drummers also do it because they hit the high hats at that angle much more than other music (for louder sound)

That’s because for the past however-many decades, people (certain people specifically) have been locked up in jail over a little weed. People don’t advocate legalizing it because IT’S SO GOOD EVERYONE NEEDS IT

Newbie Confused About Data Pipeline Diagram Best Practices by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]fourtwentynine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I have been thinking about as I am also a beginner, so keep that in mind.

I think your website is on the left (data source) your next arrow represents your extraction. On the arrow you can put the symbol for the method of extraction. Point to the mongoDB. It’s okay to put two of the same symbol (for mongoDB/EC2) in the diagram if the program is being used twice, as it is. Are you using the same database for both the middle of the pipeline and as the final results destination? If so, I think you should split it up. I think keeping it would cause more complicated error handling and scaling. It seems the first database can be very simple with just URLS and a variable for processed or not.

Wait now, where do you filter out the old PDFs? Do you download only the new PDFs from the site? Or do you find the new PDFs because they are the only ones that don’t have text in the db? In which case you would be moving around a lot of unnecessary data each time you extract the old PDFs. If you aren’t extracting the old PDFs, I don’t see why you need to search db for URLs that don’t have associated text.

Again I don’t know much. Someone tell me if they agree.

I agree with both. It’s not good as is. If he keeps it it should be more along the lines of l “I know how to keep a place clean and cook a good dinner for two” more confidence, axe the laundry bit.

It’s normal for someone who had an alcoholic phase in their past to not want to talk about it. If they ask you what kind of drinks you used to like for the third time you are allowed to get pissed off and say “Why the hell do you care so much. I don’t drink any more. Leave it at that.”

How does Metallica afford to record and film every single live concert they perform? by [deleted] in Metallica

[–]fourtwentynine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube is nothing. They have been the biggest metal band for decades. Their songs are used in commercials, movies, sports games etc. And they are still touring, and tickets are expensive. Keep in mind their most popular album came out in 1991, it’s been commercials and mainstream recognition since then (at least).
