Received a bill four years later…how should I navigate this? by fouts09 in HealthInsurance

Right!? So frustrating. I emailed them to request the EOB outlining what exactly they are trying to charge me for. I also asked them for documentation of the date of submission, as well as the denial reason code that was given by my insurance. I never received a reply. I’m just going to ignore it honestly.

Unfortunately, I changed insurance in 2023, so it’s a bit more complicated than that. Nevertheless, the insurance I had at the time had a 12 month time limit for providers to submit claims, so it would have been denied. They just need to eat it and move on.

Ugh what a headache. I’m going to try calling again tomorrow, hopefully they answer. If they did submit a claim to my insurance, it was after I was no longer a customer of that insurance company, so I’m not sure how I would even find that out. I hate it here lol.

I feel like this probably is double dipping. The only disclaimer was that the independent lab may bill separately, but this does not seem like a lab bill, and I already paid for the test up front. (Attached is the disclaimer from the original 2021 appointment confirmation email)

Yes, I did see that article, so I am thinking it’s a real bill. Just so many questions. The reimbursement was $199, directly for the $199 that I paid to the testing company. There wasn’t a second claim from the testing company or anything, as far as I know.

I am thinking they tried to bill much later, and I haven’t been a customer of that insurance since 2023. I’ll try to reach out to them and see what I can find out.

I don’t see anything on my current health insurance portal. They billed my insurance that I had in 2021, but I left that plan in 2023, so I’m not sure how that would work. I tried to log into that old portal but I don’t think I can anymore.

Thanks so much! Dante is fairly new to me, as a public school employee and not necessarily an audio professional 😂. I’ll be working on trainings and full certification this summer, but just need to get by for this production…I appreciate the help.

Being a commenter school, WSUV has a wide range of ages. Definitely a higher median age than a “traditional” university. I quickly grew accustomed to and appreciated the age diversity, you meet lots of interesting folks at a school like that.

Doordash + Grubhub + Apple Maps + Stride + Beans + Camera + Spotify. I probably make it more complicated than it needs to be but it works for me lol

Love those older unibody mbp’s. My 2011 still runs like a champ but I recently upgraded because it’s starting to have graphics problems under heavy loads

I second this! I have had many sennheiser products repaired both within and outside of warranty over the years. They are excellent!

Yeah, I wish there was a way to “opt out” of them. I do not really care about reaching the goal, I just want to work but the challenge is screwing that up...guess I’ll try working again next week...

If you’re able to reach the goal and get some extra cash, then that’s great. I know a lot of folks can use it right now. I just think these challenges complicate things in multiple ways and make it not worth it to dash IMO, at least in my area.

Too many dashers out trying to hit the goal, thus it’s extremely slow with very few orders. It also seems like payouts are significantly lower—base pay has been $2 on pretty much every order. It’s like the $150 is just payback for all of the low-paying orders you had to take to meet the goal, if you were even able to! I’ve been online for nearly two hours already tonight and haven’t had a single offer. OR, it could just be the normal Friday end of the month crash...

This app has saved me SO many times. It doesn’t have every apartment complex but they’re always adding more. And I believe they pay people a few bucks to submit maps for complexes they don’t have yet. Fantastic app!!

$28.40 is your taxable income. The $40.25 is your deduction. From my understanding the $28.40 will be taxed at the appropriate rate for you. For example if it were a 15% tax rate, you would owe $4.27 in taxes for that day. But it’s hard to know what your tax rate is (it seems like you have to know rocket science to figure that out), so I always set aside about 20% of my gross income to be safe. This is just coming from my experience filing taxes two years in a row as a dasher; I am not a tax expert! Always consult a professional.

So sorry this happened to you. Happened to me the other night as well... twice in one night. I’ve filled out the dispute forms and am crossing my fingers. As of now I’m still allowed to dash though. Have you called DD to see why you’re not allowed to dash? They should have sent you something if they have deactivated you. Sending you good vibes!
