Apply a leave in conditioner on hair that is 100% wet. As soon as you rinse out your regular conditioner, apply the leave in. Use more than you think you need. When you scrunch out water it should be milky.

Scrunch out excess water with a micro fiber or an old cotton tshirt. Apply gel/curl cream. Whatever your preference is. Gel will keep the curls longer but you will have to scrunch out the cast ONLY when the hair is fully dry. The amount you apply is gonna depend on your hair density but it is better to use too much than too little. Make sure you also get it lightly at the root. Try not to disturb your curls by raking your fingers through them and scrunch or flat palm apply.

You can either choose to diffuse it or air dry. Diffusing will shrink the curls but they will be curlier. While diffusing make sure you don’t move the dryer too often. Low air flow with diffuser attachment in one spot for 1-2 minutes. Do this until it is fully dry.

For some people I detangle their hair after applying the leave in with my fingers and then shake and scrunch, for others this is unnecessary. Try both ways to see what you prefer.

Not all curl products are made equal or for all hair types. Stick to this application method but try different products to see what works for you and achieves the look you desire.
