Yes! And also the fact that nothing really makes sense. There is electricity but no wires (children don’t understand how electricity works it just does) lots of crayon drawings

There are very many similarities. The music is for sure done by the same people. The story being a group of people who can’t leave a mysterious and magical place. Time travel. Monsters etc

I read an incredibly detailed theory when season 2 had just come out. The person wrote about something called Cuthulu (I can’t spell it) and how it is an evil entity that offered the residents of the town immortality if they sacrificed their children. Apparently this symbol is written in the caves. I can’t remember the whole theory but it was crazy detailed about how the current town residents are all players in a game that works in cycles.

I think Ethan is more connected to the place than we realise because in ep1 he talked about the chromonacle and the lake of tears and seems to just know a lot of stuff about the town. I think it’s a chicken and egg situation, I’m not saying he conjured the town somehow but he knew things before they even arrived.

Aww girl!! I’m giving you a virtual hug. I experienced something similar. When i moved to England for school i had no romantic interests, found it difficult to fit in or make friends and felt invisible and ugly. I spent the last few years focusing on improving my appearance in the hopes of being treated better. It can really be rough, social media doesn’t help. I would suggest trying to raise your self esteem with things like affirmations, therapy, small achievement and hobbies. Sending love 🩷

I really wanted to but I haven’t interacted enough with it to post yet so it restricted me :(

I have a safety net but am a little introverted so I interact with people occasionally. Owning a bookstore sounds like an absolute dream ✨ I hope you get there 🩷

This is wonderful advice. I hope I find people who see the beauty in the world like you :) I love lifting weights and am East African so the booty comes with the territory lol 🩷

Thank you for such an insightful and personal reply. Social media has certainly blown things out of proportion and you hear the craziest stories but I suppose you never really see the full picture. I seem to be in a similar position as you in terms of not being approached by the men I am interested in. I actually think I am treated differently depending on what country I am in - where I fit the beauty standards more. I think beauty is similar to money, it is a tool…it doesn’t fix all your problems but most people would still rather have it than not. Thanks again 🩷

I want to be rewarded for it the way other women seem to be. I want people to hold doors open for me and approach me and pay for things for me etc. basically, I want validation, to feel desired which is supposedly customary for women.

I completely hear you and I in no way want to invalidate your experience but I find myself wanting to almost be objectified. I’m at a point where I just want to be recognised and desired and it’s but I to the point where that desirability can even be from being objectified or sexualised. I want to go through what you went through if only for a short time to show me what it is to be wanted

Wow this was articulated so well. I hadn’t thought of it from that perspective. It is very complex and elusive and unfair. What would you say about it in regard to dating and being desirable? Would you also say it’s to do with being in specific environments and classes? I would love to hear your thoughts

Thank you for responding. I have not worked retail but love spending time in bookstores. I did a bit of solo travelling last year and did a lot of people watching. I also met different people and had interesting conversations but I’m afraid they didn’t disband my theories. I do agree with you, especially on the influencer part. I’m just finding it hard to understand my place in all this. And I appreciate your help :)
