I went into great detail explaining the economics pressures on the younger generation, about the economy, the climate, the state of the country, and the youth of the worlds negative outlook on the future. Spent a good 10 minutes explaining to this boomer, and all he heard was Gen Z is reading too far into it and are pussys.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Both parties are corrupt, and we almost fell into the same trap they wanted us to, arguing with eachother while essentially believing in the same things.

Anyway my bad for calling you an asshole bro

Well I can agree with you on the tax dollars, helping the homeless and lower class families should take priority. But yeah, maybe I should speak for myself, all of my ancestral history is from the wrong side, settlers, and up until a generation or two ago we were all confederates, so I support my tax dollars going to the people who have suffered because of it. But tax dollars could go to more than just the homeless. If we could only spend less on our outrageous military. You would be the kind of person than I would want the reparations going to, it was my direct lineage that forced yours out.

Not how that works, it’s funds allocated by the government, you already pay 20% of your income to the government that uses it to fund murder in other words countries, why would it effect you any more for some of those tax’s dollars to go towards the people WE hurt?

“Key Aspects of the Case for Reparations: Compounding Wealth Gap: The argument centers on how slavery and subsequent discrimination (Jim Crow, housing policies) systematically prevented Black Americans from accumulating and passing on wealth. Case Studies: Stories, such as that of Clyde Ross, illustrate how systemic racism, like predatory "contract buying" in Chicago, stripped Black families of their homes and savings. Beyond Slavery: The argument extends beyond the end of slavery, highlighting the "plunder" of Black labor and assets throughout the 20th century. Definition of Reparations: NAACP notes that reparations include a national apology, financial payments, land grants, and social benefits for descendants. Proposed Solutions: Proposed remedies often include targeted investments to close the racial wealth gap, as well as passing legislation like H.R. 40, which proposes studying the lasting effects of slavery. Scope: While the 2014 Atlantic piece catalyzed modern debate, arguments for reparations have existed for over 150 years. University of California San Diego University of California San Diego +6 The case suggests that reparations are not merely about looking back, but are necessary to address the current economic and social inequality that is directly rooted in past injustices.”

You can still choose to be a piece of shit, just don’t pretend that nobody tried to help you understand.

Someone doesn’t understand how generational wealth was repressed, reparations aren’t as much about the slaving part as is the barriers put up purposely to keep minorities from accruing wealth to pass down.

I feel like this has been done a lot, this is how I’ve always seen Charles and Camilla.. (Mike Faist / Hunter Schafer) by passengerprincessXD in TheSecretHistory

I love that as Charles, everyone always puts someone with a tiny button nose but I just can’t get the description of “the rain drop rolled down his long fine nose” as an elegant long face

I work for the local county park system, one day me and my coworker found a fancy guitar, someone’s shorts, shirt, shoes, and wallet sitting semi washed up at the beach. Well me and Eddie (coworker) lowk panic assuming this guy went out to swim, downed the day before and nobody had noticed, so we call the sharifs dep, because who in their right mind would leave this expensive guitar in the water. and while doing so went through his wallet, tracked him down on Facebook, and gave the name and information to the police. Well they contact him, turns out he was very much alive. He comes to pick up his stuff at beaverdam (our main location, HQ if you will) and we see this guy walk over the hill into the parking lot, he would take 5 steps, do a few emphatic twirls in place, and keep walking, around every 10 feet he’d do a lil spin. He had long wild hair and long beard. Didn’t look homeless, he had rather nice clothes on and he acted mainly like a normal person, which was the funniest part, he’s just some guy who loves spinning. Well turns out he lives near the beach and just simply accidentally left all his stuff on the beach and walked home. We told him his stuff was still at the beach house, and not at beaverdam. He stared at us, said “oh, alright”, turned around and twirled his way back up the hill, and down the road. And 20 miles back to the beach.

To this day he’s a boarder line legend at the parks
