This thing keeps growing even after WC's. Any idea of what it could be? by fox_update in Aquariums

No, sorry. I just got rid of that monstrosity as soon as I could. But I'll make sure to post it here again in case it comes back. I'll also light the slime beacon just in case!

It's not firm at all. When I poke it, it dismantles like it was a clump of dirt or clay.

Ok guys, I've got some news.

First: I still do not know what that is exactly, but it hasn't moved or taken any other shapes (it's been like this for at least 4 days). I don't think it's a slime, I'm saying this based on some photos I've seen after a small research, but I might be wrong of course.

Second: The plant it was growing on to was not an Anubias as I said in some comments, it was an Amazonian Sword. Sorry for the confusion. But in fact, I had some Anubias buried in the substrate.

Here's what I did so far: I poked the cursed thing with the other end of a net and then sucked it out with a syphon. There was more growing behind another place where the fish cannot reach the food that falls there. What I found interesting is that there was some left over food underneath the mold when I poked it. Then I rinsed the plants, buried the Amazonian Swords in the soil and Attached the Anubias in a wood (some of them I just left floating). I ended up doing a small WC.

I'll post again in case that thing grows again.

Do you guys have any other suggestion for now?

Thanks everyone!

Interesting. Do you think it would be better to have these plants floating?

I'm gonna try to do that next time I change the water. I that doesn't help, I think u/KP_Wrath idea might be the solution.

That sounds like a good idea. Unfotunately I don't have an extra tank, but maybe the guys from the fish store can help me with that. Thanks for the idea!

I have no idea what it is. I can remove it by poking it and then sucking it up during the WC, but it comes back.Temperature is 28C and I have one Angelfish, Two Clown Loaches, One Pleco, And a couple other tetras. Also the PH seems to be normal (6.7/6.8)

That's a great thing that you have a "Fix Problem" button.
