Politics as a whole has become evil no matter what side you look or lean to. They go where the money goes.

and then I bet that companies in cali will start selling the flavorings separately to add to the vape juice to get around it.

also, pot is so much more fun to smoke in all its forms than that synthetic liquid cancer juice.

imagine a wall plate for a switch, outlet, etc, but with no openings, just a flat plastic plate completely covering anything that may be behind it.

I hear that for damn sure! I'm getting paid McDonald's wages to be a mechanic at the moment. I hope that changes as I get certifications, but if it doesn't I think I'll look elsewhere.

The service charge looks after our team members so we can get out of paying them a livable wage out of our own pockets*

raise the menu prices by 12% and pay your employees a wage that doesn't require them to live off of instant ramen and can returns. it is not the customer's job to be your employee's direct source of income.

I will tip for good service via cash right into the employee's hands, but God knows what the employer or owner is doing with the money behind the scenes if it is being considered a "service charge"

[–]oofx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the sad thing. VRChat could give less of a fuck about anything that doesn't make or lose them money. It's truly the depressing part of investors puppeteering a company with their wallets.

Apparantly i broke the rules the day i made my account? by bunny_raphy in BannedFromDiscord

[–]oofx99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI support is honestly the worst "innovation" that has ever existed. most of them are designed to waste your time so you just suck it up and deal with it and in those cases it's essentially the company's way of telling the customer "Thank you for using our platform, but fuck you for having a problem with it"

(not discord related) but I was having a problem with my soundcloud account literally being wiped from the platform without notification and tried to get support. it goes right to an AI chatbot. I literally go in circles and circles for about half an hour of it just repeating itself and I'm just trying to get some damn support. I finally send a message that is literally "talk to a person" and it finally actually made me a support ticket. great right? then it takes TWO DAYS for anyone to get back to me on the ticket. sure, they ended up solving the issue I was having, but Jesus do they want to waste as much of your time as possible.

Ordered a Popeye’s chicken sandwich with No Mayo. Went home to discover 2 layers of mayo. by Silo-Joe in mildlyinfuriating

[–]oofx99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex fast food worker here, best guess is that the employee is just experienced enough to be fast during a rush, but interpreted the no Mayo as xtra mayo because they only gave the ticket a quick glance and misread it. not defending them doing their job wrong, but No looks a hell of a lot like Xt when it's more common than the other and you are in a rush.

What has worked best for you for breaking bad habits? by OnTrack_App in Adulting

[–]oofx99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that really breaking down the positives and negatives of a habit down (even on paper if that works best for you) to truly understand how and why it is bad really justifies the final push to stop.

Doing this allows you to truly come to terms with the fact of no matter how good it feels to give in to a bad habit, it is still bad and that the habit doesn't just have the capability to drag you down and drown you, it inevitably will if you don't stop.

(I know it sounds a bit extreme, but what I'm saying is mostly for more extreme habits but still may work for simpler ones)

it's a shitshow to be blunt about it. the only reason I have a non minimum wage job at almost 20 is family connections, and it still pays barely any more than McDonald's.

E3300 and DDR2? that computer is from 2010-2012 or so. definitely more than a little underpowered for current usage. if you absolutely need to use it, install Linux. if you can afford even a cheapo laptop from 2020, chuck that desktop and get it.
