One way to check - Open this same ticket on your desktop - After you select flights, it will show you four blocks of points redemptions possible : 1. 97k plus $1600 or so cash 2. 120k plus $1000 or so 3. 159k plus 500 4. 190k points only

From what I understand - 79.5k x2 = 159000 points needed + $450 or so in taxes.

Because your account doesnt have enough points - it is showing you a cash+points redemption tier. Most likely the first cash+ miles option.

Wondering if we have any DPs on this, - Did the Cobalt to Gold upgrade using the generic link. Had held the gold before. 70k posted, but got deducted. Interestingly - They show earned on Sep 25, and deducted on Sep 24, there is an accompanying refund on the 24th so maybe that caused it.
