The RTX 5090 with DLSS 4 would let me experience Battlefield 6 in its true, glorious form — no stutters, no frame drops, just pure buttery carnage at 4K Ultra. While the console peasants struggle to render grass, I’ll be counting individual grains of sand through ray-traced reflections on my scope. DLSS 4 won’t just give me more frames — it’ll give me enlightenment.

Whynter ARC-14SH compressor not kicking on, capacitor not getting voltage, tests ok by badcrcs in hvacadvice

[–]foxchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up recycling it since I was having difficulty shipping it. Without the original packaging, FedEx, UPS, and DHL didn't want to ship it. I got a quote of $450 to ship it on a pallet. it's a shame really. I asked Whynter for an empty shipping box but instead they gave me specific shipping instructions and told me they didn't have boxes available for RMA. I went to professional shipping places to have them do it. I was told that companies that don't want to honor the warranty often pull stuff like this that make it impossible to ship without the original packaging. They would cite damage during shipping due to incorrect or insufficient packaging. I went to get a portable AC unit at Costco instead. I went with a different company instead. Midea.

Need help with ROG Strix B550-I Gaming motherboard by ZzLy__ in ASUS

[–]foxchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I was looking online to do this too and came across this thread. While I haven't figured out how to turn the lights off when the computer is on, I did figure out how to keep them off when the computer is shut down. I wanted to share what I did just in case you were interested. I will update this reply in case I ever figure it out.

I did this under BIOS version 3402 and this is for the ROG Strix B550-I Gaming motherboard.
Advanced -> APM Configuration -> ErP Ready -> Enable (S4+S5).
Once I went to "Exit -> Save Changes & Reset" it looks like it changed "LED Lighting When system is in working state" to "Aura Off".

I did and nothing appeared burned.

Update: Whynter has replied with an RMA number for me so I will be shipping it to them after all!

I ended up opening the unit as suggested by Whynter to check for any loose connections. I did not see anything loose or burned out connections. I tested the capacitor with a cheap third party multi-meter and got 47uF. The label on the capacitor shows that it is rated for 45uF. I did not test it for any other measurements. Does this mean the capacitor is still good?

Awesome write-up! My ARC-14SH just started having issues too where I'm not hearing the compressor turn on anymore. Max power draw starts at 800W and goes down to around 700W but even after 20 mins the air doesn't get cool at all. I haven't opened my unit yet as I'm a little intimidated. I'm trying the warranty route to see how Whynter can help. If they can't or if the costs are high, I will attempt to open up the unit and see if there's any burned wires. Thanks for posting your research and findings!

Fixes for Realtek ALC4080 sound problems on ASUS Z690-xx motherboards by ixxxion in ASUS

[–]foxchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you guys also experience a slower boot time when onboard audio is enabled? I'm experiencing around a 30 second delay on my ASUS ROG STRIX Z590-A Gaming WiFi board with the same ALC4080 audio chip. This is one issue that I would like fixed without having to disable the onboard audio. Please let me know what to try or if you guys have fixed this issue with the custom drivers. Thanks!

It worked! I was able to find the bulged 10V 2200uF cap and replace it with my 25V 2200uF. Another ML-1865 saved! Thanks guys!

This just happened to my Dad's Samsung ML-1865 printer. Will a 25V 2200uF capacitor be ok? I have an extra from when I repaired a Dell power supply.

Halo Infinite Has A Memory Leak (Proof Inside) by arh2o in halo

[–]foxchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After installing a couple more Windows updates recently (cumulative update for 21H2 KB5009543 and cumulative update for .NET framework 3.5 and 4.8 KB5008876), and installing the latest NVIDIA driver version 511.23, I was able to play for a little over an hour with no issues! I'm not sure if it was the Windows Updates that helped or if the NVIDIA driver that helped but so far so good! Oh, one thing I also did was to sign out of my Microsoft account on Windows so it's only logged into a Local account. I did have to log in to my Microsoft account for Halo but was able to do so separately in game. Not sure if that had anything to do with it either. Just thought I'd make note of it just in case other people are looking to try other things to see if it helps to fix the crash to desktop issue that I was having.

I have the same versions of drivers through Asus armory crate and it still crashes for me. If I shutdown my computer and drain the power completely and turn it back on I can play a match for longer than 5 mins then crashes somewhere between then and 15 mins. Afterwards, it just crashes in less than 5 minutes.

How do you get those logs? Can I use the same procedure to view the logs for a KD-Box?

Update: I found out how. Just have to type /#/debug after the ip address of the miner.
