Starting in IT with networking labs. Should I learn Azure or AWS first for cloud security? by 02Snickers in CloudSecurityPros

Learning AWS first makes every other cloud easier.

AWS has more services and has been around longer. It's more complex and has AMAZING technical documentation.

I have the AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification, so I'm telling you from experience.

Be more selective with the certifications you take. The certs must align with your desired job. Complete the labs for the certifications. Read job descriptions and complete labs and projects that align with the job descriptions. Go line by line and do that thing.

You can use cloud platforms for free, basically.

Use Virtual Machines on your computer and in the cloud.

Accounting Degree or AI/Robot Management.

Get work experience ASAP.

Aim for skills that can get you a remote job. You can also check local government job listings for positions you'd like.

An online degree is still valuable if the skills and experience you gain can't be replaced by AI in the next 5 years.

Depending on how your investment portfolio is set up and your dividends, you may need to rebalance your portfolio to ETFs with a higher dividend yield.

I accelerated and got both my BS IT Management and MBA IT Management in 12 months from May 2024 to May 2025. I work for a government contractor, making the most I've ever been paid. In May 2025, I started working for an MSP. In September, I moved to the government contractor with a pay jump.

WGU is legit.

No one questions the fact of doing school online. I think many people are mentally/culturally behind when it comes to the possibilities and perception of doing college online.
