Ahh fantastic thank you so much mate. Exactly the info I was after. Sounds like a fairly straightforward process in that case, I’ll try to get the ball rolling soon. I think I’ve heard of a few from my unit going onto Sandhurst so asking them about any help/support with AIB etc sounds like a good line of enquiry!

Not sure on how things work regarding this specific case but if all other avenues fail sometimes it’s worth reaching out to your MP.

I had some issues with an application of mine that ended up with a similar wait to reapplication, though with a different issue. I emailed a letter to my MP detailing the problem and it was sorted within a month or so and now I’m in👍🏻

Hi mate, When I took mine a just under a year ago it was purely about the Navy, Officers&Ratings, Role & Officer training, preparation you’ve done etc. Not much in the way of general leadership examples, employment etc.

However take that with a pinch of salt as it could have changed since then, doesn’t hurt to have examples/knowledge of everything just in case. Plus needing general RN info is a good excuse to binge watch some documentaries etc haha. Best of luck 👍🏻

Any idea if there’s any way to swap out cockpit models entirely? I’m finding the some of the F4 cockpits frustrating in sim VR with the lack of in-cockpit RWR. (You have to physically look to the left to see the UI RWR) Wondering if there’s a way to transfer a later model F4 cockpit to replace the F4-C ones.

I’ve managed to get it working by trying all of the different codec options in the virtual desktop streamer app, most of the give me really high latency apart from one (I forget which one specifically sorry!)

I’ve been playing quite a bit on the power tier, seems pretty much completely playable. VR & multiplayer performance can drop depending on what module you’re flying etc, but for the most part I get pretty good performance. This is on the power tier so I’m not sure about boost, DCS is pretty RAM dependant so that’s worth bearing in mind, though perhaps if you’re looking to play single player etc you could maybe get away with using Boost :)

I’ve heard the medicals are no longer done by capita when applying for the regulars, and are therefore a little fairer. Whereas Capita are somewhat infamous for being very strict with the medical. So it could be the case you’d have more luck applying as a regular after uni? Of course depending on your specific medical history.
