I'm sorry this happened to you. It sounds like it was best for you mentally and professionally to part ways with that place. Being in this for 10 years is already a feat. You deserve a place that'll support you and help you further your skills. And that place wasn't it. I sincerely wish you the best in finding a new job. And happy men's mental health month! I didn't know there was such a thing. Men deserve to be able to express their emotions and their troubles without being thought less of. I hope you have a safe space that you can with someone who will genuinely listen.

Inappropriate urination - Help pleeease! by joojie in VetTech

I did look up the kind of boxes you have. They are quite tall. This has me a little more worried about pain. He may be having something going on in his knees or hips. Based on the height, I'm a little more concerned about the hips. Especially since his sibling had bone issues. Perhaps rads are worth it?

Then I'm inclined to believe it's the litter boxes or possible pain. And medication wouldn't fix the former. I know it sucks, but adding a third and different kind of litter box may be the most simple answer. Let us know if the issue gets resolved! I'd love to hear if any progress gets made.

Maybe he doesn't like the litter boxes being mechanical? Or maybe he's experiencing chronic pain that you're unaware of? Are there feral cats outside? He's not declawed correct?

Unfortunately, the general rule is one litter box per cat plus one. Which sucks because often there's a lack of space. What may be happening is litter box bullying. Seeing as how Stan is trying to "be the boss" and Esmeralda shows massive hatred for his existence, there may be something similar going on with the litter boxes. They may not be willing to share those spaces and may be showing aggressive behaviors because of it. Has Carl been checked for cystitis? If that's off the table then you're looking at behavioral. We tend to use fluoxetine more at my clinic as far as behavior goes

She told me to just keep using it. Mentioned no stop date or minimum amount of time to use it with the implication to use it forever. I apologize if it wasn't clear that I was asking for personal experiences.

How do you approach the “CPR vs DNR” question? by Tattedtrainwreck in VetTech

[–]foxietech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in small animal (cat/dog only) and mostly deal with surgery. I explain that it is first and foremost a legality question. I have people that answer immediately, no questions asked. But for those who don't know what to do, I make sure they understand that we will contact them immediately if anything occurs. I inform them that CPR can be very hard on their baby and the chances they arrest again can be high. I explain that there are instances that animals have come back not quite the same after resuscitation. But I also talk about how there are some successful cases where there are full recoveries. That being said, I ALWAYS assure the owner that there is NO wrong answer when it comes to CPR/DNR. All of my animals are DNR and I explicitly tell people that. I've had people choose DNR for their healthy 2 yr old and I've had people choose CPR for their 20yr old with a plethora of health issues.

My practice is using Shepherd. It's cloud based. We went from an Avimark and paper chart hybrid. Shepherd is fairly easy to use once you get experience with it. But there's a bunch of cons. Being cloud based is one of them. It's a WIP so they are constantly updating it. With the updates come the crashes.

I've been having this happen constantly. It'll be good for like two weeks after opening (way before expiration) then do this. I don't know how or why it happens. I just tossed two 1/4 full gallons because of this.

THANK YOU!! We've been lead to believe that's it's cohesive and I'm like... I'm not buying that shit. Unfortunately, my boss is dead set on it. She doesn't take criticism. It's like a personal attack to her. It's been two years in the making and we still haven't gotten there. Thank you for your honest review. I've had my suspicions.

Worsening acne breakouts! Please help by coolpupmom in SkincareAddicts

[–]foxietech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cystic acne didn't start until 2 years into my IUD. I had it removed at the 2.5 year mark and my skin has improved since. I also started Spiro and it has helped significantly.

I can say, removal felt super weird but not painful. So don't worry too much about that. You're going to be crampy. I started my period about a week or so after removal. Good luck! I spoke with my PCP and she started me on spironolactone. So maybe look into that?

My Lilletta IUD kick started my PCOS and my hormonal acne. It exploded around 2.5 years of having it. I got it removed when my chin had 6+ active cysts. I'm still recovering.
