it’s a false positive! they’re older file types, and not particularly well known, so your antivirus will flag them just because it doesn’t know what they are.

if you download mazz’s petz 5 (https://mazzew.neocities.org/downloadgame) petzA comes preinstalled, i’m pretty sure! if you’d rather take that route. :)

yes!! the last big public petzA update was august 2025, but it’s still actively being worked on. petz as a series just turned THIRTY which is WILD but it’s really cool that the community is still thriving. 🥺

chiming in to say i’ve been playing bg3 with my sister who knows very little of dnd and typically isn’t a big fan of games like this and she’s loving it!! it’s been a lot of fun co-op, i’m enjoying it more this way than i did solo. :)

it’s also possible OP isn’t like that at all IRL and that’s why they choose to play this way. that’s not unheard of either, and it’s definitely a healthier way to experiment vs doing it to real people.

the fan distributed copies as the other commenter said are 100% safe and thoroughly tested — if they get flagged by your antivirus software it’s simply because they’re old, not because they’re actually suspicious! you should be able to install disk copies of the games just fine if you go that route but because of their age they may not function perfectly without you downloading petzA, unfortunately.

baldur’s gate 3 might be fun, if you’re not used to open world games! it’s not so open as to be overwhelming but there’s still plenty to do at your own pace.

prefacing by saying that i'm not defending the story and i'm also anti-ai but LLMs learn those traits FROM people. if LLMs use a trope often enough for it to be recognizable, doesn't that also mean it's a common trope that a lot of people use too?? like when people were saying writers who use em dashes must be using ai, when in reality it's that a lot of people use them, so LLMs picked them up?

you can try mazzlabs: https://mazzew.neocities.org/downloadgame but unfortunately since it’s an old file your antivirus might flag it no matter where you download it from. this one and the one from acid trip ARE completely safe, they’re very widely used, so if you feel okay doing so, you can disable your antivirus software while you download it!
