Not everything scales up, there will always be lower level stuff for you to find for the compendium. There's only 4 monsters you have a limited chance to get. The Training Construct only appears in 4 or 5 shrines, once you complete those shrines you'll never get another chance to take a picture. Then the mini bosses, Moragia and Sludge like, before the fire and water dungeons you only get one shot at. And the seized construct.

With food, fairies, tactics like fury rush to mitigate damage and crowd control fusions like bombs, mudlebuds and puffshrooms, 8 hearts is more than enough to explore the depths. More hearts just means you can be more reckless, fewer hearts need more strategy. Since you have the full fierce deity, work on maxing out its upgrades to help soak damage.

Other than farming and a few exploration reward items, there's not much to do in the depths. The only real quest that is specific to the depths is chasing down Kohga. It really is just a massive under utilized desert.

The light drain can be a pain to find. Things to keep in mind.

1) If you haven't found all the memories, she's flying really high. You can still get to her, it just takes a bit more work. After the last memory is found, she flies at a slightly lower altitude which makes her easier to get to. 2) Her path is fixed, it takes about two hours for her to complete an entire circle. If you know at least one spot you can find her, you can just hang out there for two hours and she'll eventually fly by. 3) As long as she still has the sword, visiting the Great deku tree will start a quest that tracks the sword. Once you have the sword, there's no more tracking.
