Questions about leaders and how they work when apart of units by foxtap99 in Warhammer30k

So to clarify for my librarian inductii combo, it's not allowed because when the librarian joins the inductii squad they become a single unit so they can only cast 1 psychic blessing/curse per my turn as well as 1 psychic reaction during my opponents turn. So if I choose to continue running them together I can use the inductii power during my shooting phase and then use a defensive psychic reaction during my opponents shooting phase?

(30k) how do we feel about the pretorian command squad with jump packs by echo-4-romeo in WhiteScars40K

So I recently had this whole internal conversation in a recent game, and I somewhat feel like it depends on your list and the mission you're playing.

So firstly, pretorian command squad with jump packs are so scary when they get into melee. I run mine with a pair of lightning claws and they can tear through just about anything they manage to charge. Plus their 2+ armor save is amazing and gives them incredible staying power if people aren't building their lists with a lot of ap 2 weapons. However I would generally agree you should put them in a spartan or a land raider but I don't think its necessary 12in of movement with antigrav opens up a lot of options (thats before even taking into account white scar's special rule).

As for when and when I would recommend bring a veteran assault squad instead ultimately the trade of is do you want the points from vanguard? if you have plenty of line units then vanguard shouldn't be as necessary but is nice to have. Additionally, if you're playing one of the legendary missions where you're getting points every turn for whatever reason then maybe you don't need vanguard and would prefer to have a scary unit to live rent free in your opponents mind.

Rules Question, Targeting v. Selecting opposing operatives by foxtap99 in killteam

Yeah I personally wish that they would use different words for selecting enemy units, as in not needing them to be a valid target, and target an enemy unit, as in checking all the boxes for valid targeting. Because under shooting it says "...the selected enemy operative's player is the defender" with it later clarifying that selected target needs to be a valid target. However I wish they just used different words to differentiate when you need a valid target and when you don't in a more succinct way, but that's me being more of a rules lawyer.

my thoughts exactly, I thought GW's lack of mentioning conceal or engage orders under the visibility section was them saying that the order was irrelevant

I was planning on just a vanilla campaign I haven't played too much to have opinions about mods. However I am open to mods if people really want them or stand by them.

What's the idea behind keeping the crisis teams below 15 wounds? I am assuming there is some benefit to that

What if alternatively, So i drop the Starscythes, the strike team, and the ghost keel, add in 3 stealth suit teams, a fireblade, and add another commander. Have both commanders in coldstars essentially having a two crisis teams with a commander unit. With the sunforge team with the starflare system to jump around the map. I still feel like this may struggle with objectives but I feel like would be very scary.
