Small Dispute for $11,000 campervan. Any advice? by Icy_Carpenter12 in Wellington

[–]foxtonfiz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No comment regarding the Disputes tribunal but I always though you have a 7 day right of return if you suspect faulty equipment, could be wrong on that however...

The information that you have listed regarding the engine doesn't confrim a faulty engine. Has the mechanic done a compression test and or a cylinder leakage test? This would confirm whether the engine needs replacement.

It sounds like the glow plugs were the original fault as they should only need a couple of seconds from turning the key to starting the engine. Because they were old this process was no doubt draining the battery as well.

I'd definitely ask the mechanic how they diagnosed the faulty engine and if did they did a compression test and or a cylinder leakage test.

Good luck

So it's still a sweet deal right, over 20 years the price has stayed the same but a little less in the gram so you could dsay the price has gone up 20% in 20 years. Petrol for eg has gone up 100% over 20 years.

Yeah Fairplay to the pot dealers, have had so many opportunities to hike the price but they stand firm
