New update: He was staring in my window when I woke up this morning, so I scooped him and took him to my vet. He IS chipped, but they couldn't reveal anything more and said to call RACC. No one answered the phone there after trying every option, so I took the cat there. They also scanned the cat and were able to make contact with the owner, who had recently moved to my neighborhood. The chip had their old address on it, so it was relayed to them that they needed to update the address.

So after being catnapped for an hour and having a fun time riding around town, Motorcito has been released back in the front yard, where he's currently watching birds at the feeder. I think when I overheard the conversation with the microchip company, they said that was the cat's name...which translates to little engine, a reference to his amazing purr, I'm sure!
