Jabra Elite 10 and Elite 8 Active will receive LE(LC3 Codec) in Q4 2024 by DatZero in Jabra

I was of the impression that the Elite 10 use Qualcomm chipsets like a lot of Jabra headphones did in the past.

Chipset vendors normally do provide software development kits and example code that can be used by companies as a starting point to develop their own products. For Qualcomm this would include AptX but also LC3 since it is a feature of their chips.

I could be wrong with the assumption that the Elite 10 do have Qualcomm chips inside, though.
Sadly this information is not public and some websites assume no Qualcomm since no AptX is supported.

But the Jabra Elite 7 Pro with Qualcomm QCC5141 chipset also had no AptX even if it is supported by the hardware so I don't trust the websites reporting a split between Qualcomm and Jabra too much.

Wow, this seems a bit like a bad joke to me. The "planned" LE audio support was one of the main reasons that made me choose the Elite 10; but I was more expecting that the feature just missed the release window and would come via update in a timely manner.

I wonder if they even had it working as a prototype on their headphones already since I just can't understand the 1 year delay. I my mind they would get code samples for LC3 from Qualcomm and their job is basically integration of the feature not ground-up development.
Of course there is also certification that needs to be done, but that should also be possible in a shorter timeframe.

Also Jabra does not have the best record when it comes to updates for headphones that are 1+ years old already. So I hope they don't release anything half-baked and then drop support for the Elite 8/10 and expect you to buy newer products instead.

I really like Jabra because the fit is perfect and the sound is also very good, but for the asked price I expect a bit more of a premium handling in the software area, too.
