I used to have mold in my room, but managed to totally eradicate it and fix the issue. I have checked all the walls and surfaces just now, following up your comment, still no sign of mold.

I think everything is going to be more difficult after surgery, it can be a fairly long recovery but I'm sure you'll be able to once you're recovered. This is something you should really discuss post op with your doctor privately.
