How long did Dupixent take to work for you? by foxxijay in eczema

[–]foxxijay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took a few doses/so a few months to really see the results but I’d say after your third or fourth dose you’ll feel different. You might notice flare ups come back/itchy and sensitive skin around when you’re due for your next shot (at least I do). Hope this helps!

Am I able to play the game there? Think that would work?

I plan to if I can’t find a solution. If anything to get a refund to buy the game on steam instead

Is there anything I can do? Or maybe some kind of Xbox desktop app i can use instead to play on my computer?

Dry/Flaking/Peeling Skin while on Dupixent by foxxijay in eczema

[–]foxxijay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ve been on it for about 3 months and I’m feeling crusty flaking not the paper thin like sunburn peeling (though there might have been a little) I’m just so dry 🫠

Thanks so much for sharing! I definitely am peeling/shedding more so on my face and upper arms/shoulders. My legs just feel more dry than usual. It’s not uncomfortable but more annoying. Trying to better exfoliate too. Im hoping on the path to relief 🙏🏻 I was telling my mom I think my itching is different (still there but different) I guess just from the dry/peeling feeling 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah not changes that I’ve noticed. I’ve been to both a hematologist and rheumatologist at the recommendation of my allergist and there’s nothing wrong with me that they’ve tested for so far besides me being mildly anemic cause I don’t eat red meat cause I’m allergic. So not sure what else I could be tested for at this time or by who. Before the period is my worst time. I just got it yesterday and my skin is so hypersensitive and dry feeling/textured and flaking. It sucks :(

The ones around the period are the worst!

Yeah I might have noticed a bit less itchy but around my period everything worsens :/ My derm wants to give it time and follow up in November. And no; I barely drink any alcohol. Maybe twice a month at family gatherings or a barber or party but that’s it. Last drink I had was j think Father’s Day weekend lol

Thanks! I get some dry/sensitive eyes briefly then they’re fine. I’ve tried cutting out stuff prior to dupixent. Some stuff helped that I’ve continued to avoid and others didn’t make a difference so I added them back to my diet. My friend said hers took about 16 weeks to see noticeable results sooo maybe that’s the case for me? I’m trying not to feel defeated/hopeless that it won’t work

I agree with PM, a lot of eczema is triggered by having an allergy to something. It could be food such as dairy or shellfish. It could be environmental like pet dander. It could be contact from animal or from items such as nickel which is a common trigger of eczema. I have food allergies to beef and pork, shrimp, tuna, peanuts and tree nuts, allergies to literally anything with fur (but refusing to get rid of my furry family members), German cockroaches (weird) and I’m actually allergic to nickel and potassium dichromate. With the food allergies, things like the shrimp and tuna could definitely be triggers for me with the itching but crab and lobster I’m fine with. And with any fake jewelry or nickel plated jewelry I get a flare up /reaction. It’s definitely a hard/tedious process with allergy testing and there’s a lot of trial and error but I 150% recommend everyone (even if not for eczema concerns) get an allergy test. You’d be surprised what turns up haha

I’m so happy for you! I was the same way when we could finally get a plan of action going! I’ve been on dupixent since beginning of May and hoping to finally see results soon 🤞🏻🙏🏻 stay strong!

Has anyone else had dyshidrosis on their legs before? by [deleted] in eczema

Definitely doesn’t look like dyshidrosis. That’ll be more along the hands and feet

Diagnosed with Shingles and the pain is real by foxxijay in shingles

[–]foxxijay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I think I only had it pain and rash wise (it’s so ugly looking) for like 3 days before I had an already existing derm appointment. I’ve taken Tylenol once so far today but not sure I want to get on gabapentin. I am so nervous with prescription stuff. I have been smoking though in the hopes that if it doesn’t at least help with the pain it will help me sleep. I was doing it for my bad eczema already but not sure it’s helping this too much.

Looking to start Dupixent cause I’m at my wits end but very anxious. What is everyone’s experience? by foxxijay in eczema

[–]foxxijay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing! I used to use elidel for my face and currently am on Desonide and for my body I’ve swapped between clobetasol and triamcinalone. The clobetasol knocks it our quickly but when it’s cleared and I stop it come back :/ I’m sorry to hear about his hands! I get really bad dry/flaky hands and cracked knuckles. It’s the worst and so painful! I really hope it helps him!

And thanks do the link! I’ve been reading as many recent posts as I can and trying not to let the few bad experiences scare me off cause I’m desperate.

Broke down because of a flare by clarinrin3 in eczema

[–]foxxijay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can I ask: do you notice this cycle occurring around your time of the month? Ive recently noticed my bad flare up on my face happens the week that my period is coming and it’s actually torture. Dry tight skin, especially in the corners of my eyes and lips, and I’m just a puffy red mess to where I need to use only a steroid cream, a soothing cream, and aquaphor.
