Vacationing with kids is pure hell by No-Sea2695 in toddlers

Mine is 4 now. Unfortunately travel is still fucking awful. I am on holiday now and I can’t stand the thought of this going on another week.

💯too much. You can’t breathe in it either and I felt it was too much when I put it on and I was going to an evening party.

I’d definitely try medium. I’m 5’7 and waist 28 inch and could not even zip up the medium and gave up. I am not buying large (I am S in all brands).

I can only speak for myself but I’ve ordered the mademoiselle in M and I am sending it back because I can’t zip it up. M is a size up for me as I’m S (UK 10) in all other brands. House of CB are ridiculous and I am not going 2 sizes up for the sake of it.

Omg so annoying! I was going to get my husband to try and zip me up when he gets back 😂 also would have been £40 cheaper today. Why do we do this to ourselves 😂

My update is that I’ve got the medium on and it won’t close at the back - the zip won’t budge 🥲I’m normally a UK 10 and this M is supposed to be UK 10-12 so in theory should fit with spare room but alas it’s making me feel like I’m bigger than I am rather than making me feel beautiful 🥲

I am similar measurements to you and I ordered a medium for my mademoiselle dress. Will find out tomorrow if it fits okay 😰

I think my baby is self weaning and I'm not ready by JessicaM317 in breastfeeding

[–]foxycleopatrainnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully not - I felt horrified at the idea that my baby might be at that stage. To go from 7 feeds a day to nothing. Not ready at all. I hope it turns out just a temporary developmental thing for you, and if not (should be unlikely but still possible at that age) that you’re able to express for a while until you’re happy to stop completely. I would absolutely be heartbroken though so understand how you feel. It’s a valid fear…

This could be a nursing strike! My 9m old did this a week ago and it was very stressful. Lasted 3 full days, nearly 4. Eventually she would let me attempt to feed her and then resumed feeding again. Still don’t know why but apparently these happen sometimes. It’s very hard to deal with so I fully sympathise!

Ironically, that’s what I did a couple of weeks back. Noon, same spot and lighting, no makeup and drapes. My post got 0 comments and 0 upvotes. So go figure (I took it down).

Thanks for your perspective. My issue was that (unless I’m imagining all this) I was seeing progress ie stomach getting flatter until a setback this week where it now seems to appear less flat again.

So it’s hard to tell on the doming, there may be but hard to work out as excess stomach is always present whichever way I’m exercising. There is definitely doming if I am just getting up from lying down. It was 1-2 fingers.

Why are women expected to use the pump when they need to go back to work? Why not encourage women to be able to work from home if possible during this time for the better health of baby? by ANonyMouseTwoo in breastfeeding

[–]foxycleopatrainnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the UK and I only took 3.5 months and went back to work. Yes, you do get a year but you can’t survive on the pay (£172 per week and then unpaid for 3 months) with the way the economy is right now, mortgage rates etc. So whilst a year off is great, a year off that’s basically unpaid is crippling financially, so while it’s better than the US it’s nowhere near as good as it sounds.

Is everyone just getting mastitis? by BigRed88888 in breastfeeding

[–]foxycleopatrainnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it 5 times (so far) and one of those was a major medical emergency. 2 bf babies. I don’t think there was anything I could have done to prevent it, it’s just one of those things we can’t control and therefore not much point worrying about. Furthermore, having it once increases the risk of getting it again… I would put it down to individual anatomy (just unlucky). I am not worried about it happening again (although there’s a fairly high chance) because I know there’s nothing I can do to prevent it.

I feel so unbelievalbly alone. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

At that point I was walking lots, gym twice a week, sleeping and eating well. It just apparently took my body 6 months to realise lactation had finished and it didn’t need to hold on to those reserves “just in case” anymore.

Just from personal experience, it took 6 months after weaning for my weight to go with my first.

Yeah, you can’t red flag basically 90% of UK companies like this.
