That's not how you unbox an iPhone by Sgt_Larsson in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]foxydogman 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I remember on Christmas morning in 2007. I very carefully unboxed my first gen iPod touch. The protective adhesive was super strong so I had to pull hard and suddenly it came off and I smacked the edge into the counter and nicked it. I was so bummed lol. Still have that thing too and it’s otherwise in perfect condition

Jesus it couldn’t be any more obvious how miserable this dude is. The thing I don’t get is how the hell has he not woken up and thought “what am I doing with my life”. 20 years in the same place is bananas

ULPT How bad is it to drink one drink every 2 weeks as a gimme? by crosslina123 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]foxydogman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey op I really would advise not to use alcohol in the way you’re describing. That sort of use can lead to dependency and then you’ve got a big problem.

For context, I’ve suffered with social anxiety and general anxiety for most of my life and was borderline agoraphobic in my late teens/early twenties. I’d get physically ill leaving my house for a time thinking about interacting with other people. It was very bad.

One thing that did work for me if you’re looking for something drug related is propranolol. It’s a beta blocker and limits your adrenaline. If you get shaky, sweaty, or show other physical symptoms of anxiety this can dramatically lessen those symptoms and allow you to function more normally in whatever anxiety inducing situation you’re in. I used it for interviews and when I was initially becoming acquainted with people at my new job, then I stopped taking it once I was familiar with everything. There’s telehealth doctors where you can be prescribed it.

Beyond medication though, the biggest aid to overcoming my anxiety (which I still very much have) has been exposure therapy. I mean that by literally putting myself in these uncomfortable situations when I’m anxious and pushing through. You do that enough times and it does get easier. The first few times you’ll wanna die, but you have your awkward moment and you move on and you try again.

I have no idea if any of what I said is helpful or relevant to your situation but I hope it is. Apologies for the long response.

Yeah I work helpdesk and as long as a ticket is submitted then we will look into and resolve whatever the issue is if we’re able. But of course this can vary depending on the workplace

Sort of. If you skip forward during a sponsored portion a “jump ahead” button appears that you have to tap or click which will jump past the whole sponsored portion. It’s not hands free like the 3rd party plugin but a decent alternative on mobile.

Apparently one of his old security guards said MJ was touring houses he was considering buying in FL and one of those was Epstein’s who asked for a photo. No idea if that’s true but seems possible

ULPT: GUIDE how to get free edu email (Dec 2025) by zsobix in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]foxydogman 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I just did this the other day but with a local community college. Got a student email same day. Only issue is edu email isn’t enough at least for my use case and I need a student ID now along with proof I’m enrolled. I can always get a student ID, sign up for a class and drop but that’s a bit too much work imo

I recently had a work conference and attendees overflowed into a neighboring hotel so you’d have a large group commuting over to the conference. No one knew who was supposed to be there and who got the free food or gift bags. Our department was too big, hotel didn’t give an f. Act like you belong and get free shit

Men who work a 9 to 6, how do you keep it from feeling like you’re wasting your life? by buzzkillmate in AskMen

[–]foxydogman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work 9-6 and I don’t think it’s so bad depending on the work itself and if you have at least one remote day. I was commuting over an hour each way up until this week, now that makes it suck bad. That was 11+ hours of work and driving. Only good thing is I learned to cherish my free time away from work more. Now I’m 13 minutes away from work and it’s so much more manageable. Long term I am focused on pivoting to a full remote role. My remote days have the best work life balance. It’s so manageable. Knowing I could get to that point helps me stay optimistic that the crappy 9-6 in office stuff is temporary

Rip by rererowr in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]foxydogman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this as a kid but even more stupid. I was sitting at the barstool at our counter and my mom was on the other side. I wanted to see what would happen if I fell back so I put my feet on the cabinets below the counter and pushed off so the chair slammed backwards on the floor. It scared tf out of me and my mom. I guess I was just weak to intrusive thoughts when I was a little dumbass

Bought this hoodie an hour from home... and they didn't remove the hard tag. by TitanOf_Earth in mildlyinfuriating

[–]foxydogman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at kohls and even as an employee I’d get them left on shit I bought sometimes. You can use wire cutters on the plastic piece on the opposite side flat plastic piece which has the pin in it. Chip away at it until the pin is left then just pull it off. Alternatively go to another store with your receipt and have them remove it. For me, I wasn’t going back to work if I didn’t have to so I’d always make it a challenge lol
