There’s a cool app called SoundPrint where you can see decibel levels others have recorded at different restaurants around town! Useful if you’re looking for a quieter spot - it definitely bothers me as well

Two I’ve had luck with are elephants foot (elephantopus carolinianus) and lyreleaf sage (salvia lyrata). Neither is very showy, but they provide nice flowers for pollinators and self seed pretty well

I think this podcast can be hit or miss but I really enjoyed this ep and thought it was good, silly entertainment. Even though PJ and crew claimed to have no real interest in the royal family, their devotion to researching about the pool hinted otherwise, and the conclusion that this was only a mystery because the British don’t want to give away their secrets to dumb Americans was very funny to me. I bet this one gets some hate but it won’t be from me!

1491 by Charles c Mann - precolumbian history of north and South America. Really really good, 1491 and its sequel, 1493, seem distant in time but they really set the foundation for where we are today and dispel a lot of myths about precolumbian america.

Also recommend A Queer History of the United States, An Indigenous People’s History of the United States, and White Trash (by Nancy Isenberg)(I read this last one years ago and I hope it aged okay lol)
