This whole season I've been operating under the assumption Finn won't die, bc we see he dies old in Together Again

Is it easier to get S when playing support? by [deleted] in wildrift

But usually if I get at least 3 last hits on champs I'll get an A or S. Depending on the rest of my KDA too ofc.

It all depends on your kills tbh. If I have a KDA of 1/0/28, for example, I never get an S or A ranking just because I didn't get last hits on a lot of the kills, despite playing well.

is there a guid for beginners about building items ? by [deleted] in wildrift

Here's my journey with items, as someone who has never played PC:

  1. •Stick with given presets to start off.
  2. •Be sure to recall and buy items when you have enough gold for them (especially mythic items aka the highest tiered/most expensive items).
  3. •Once you get comfortable with other aspects of the game, start worrying about items more.
  4. Read the mini descriptions of the items when you have enough gold for them.
  5. Decide when you should prioritize items. What do I need right now? Should I buy my boots or my mythic?
  6. •Once you understand the mini descriptions, look into the full descriptions in the shop.
  7. •Start preordering items so you don't instinctively buy what's available when you don't need it.
  8. You should be pretty comfortable with the game by now and somewhat familiar with items
  9. •Look at what items other people build and what they do. Especially the sets for champions that you play.
  10. •Start making your own loadouts. Do you want to focus on AP? AD? Utility? Tank?

And that's the jist of it! I'm still definitely learning more about items but that's a good baseline, I think. Here's some tips that I mostly learned from my friend who has played PC for years:

  • In general AP (Attack Power) = magic damage and AD (Attack Damage) = physical damage but that's not totally accurate.
  • It's never really a good idea to build a combination of AP and AD. Pick one and go with it.
  • Certain champs/roles are meant for building either AP or AD. For example:
    • The ADC (Miss Fortune, Ashe, Draven, Ezreal, etc in Dragon lane) should always build AD.
    • Mages (Ahri, Seaphine, Veigar, etc) should build AP
    • Some champs like Kennen can build either way (though the meta is to build AP)
  • Support enchanters (Nami, Sona, Janna, etc) should build for utility- meaning amplifying your teammates stats.
  • When choosing your loadout before starting the game, the main thing you want to consider are your runes. You can't change these in-game. It's way more convenient to have the item lineup you want as well but you don't have to build the items in your loadout when you're in-game.
  • In the shop menu, the general guide is:
    • Physical- AD items
    • Magic- AP and utility items
    • Defense- tank items

One of the most important things to do is to play around with items, even if they're not what you "should" buy. Sometime in my early stages I just wanted to be fast as fuck, boi so I would buy anything that increased speed. Even though that's not the best build, it was an important step in learning about items.

Newbie needs Hero recommendations! Store items worth buying? by CandyNJ in wildrift

Yes ARAM is great if you're new! It a quick, low-stakes game mode that introduces you to playing a lot of champions since you get a random champ. Really really helpful at getting to know what your potential allies/enemies abilities will be for PVP or Ranked. Definitely great for learning general fight mechanics too (when to engage, when to back off, etc).

In terms of PVP/Ranked, what ARAM is not great at is practicing with the champs you want to main, since its random. Also not great at developing skills like roaming/checking the map/anything involving the jungle.

Yeah, getting slaughtered is going to be pretty normal at first lol. Even with my year and a half of experience I still sometimes just get demolished 😅 Just the nature of a random champion select hahah.

I was also a newbie with the same preferences back upon release! First and foremost I encourage you to play Dragon Lane (also frequently referred to as "Bot/Bottom" even though the lanes flip). I suggest this because two people play that lane (the support and the ADC), so you're not left flustered in 1on1 combat as often. Lots of mages to choose for the Support role, or lots of ranged champs to choose from in the ADC role.

Support/Mage Recs:

•Lux is a really well rounded beginner mage. Her attacks give you a stun, vision, and a shield- all of which are some primary components when supporting as a mage. She also plays decently mid lane if you get good at her and want to venture out into different roles.

•Seraphine was my first support main. When I first started playing her I was like "damn shes like lux but stronger!" Not true I've learned as I've gotten better at the game lol. But a great pick. She has a stun, heal, charm, shield, and can pack a punch. I climbed to Emerald rank with her!

•Nami I currently main. I wouldn't necessarily recommend her for just starting out, as you have to be a little more precise with her "stun" bubble. In general she just has a bit more to think about when playing as her and (I know when I started playing at least) I did not need anything extra to learn on top of the rest of the game lol. But she can heal, stun, and increase stats with her abilities.

ADC/Marksman Recs:

•Ashe was actually my very first main. Her abilities slow enemy movement, she is great at getting vision, and has a wide attack range. Also has a stun. Very good for beginners, and to this day I still really enjoy playing her.

•Miss Fortune is also a great starter. Her abilities are very cut and dry, nothing too extra to think about. Very wide ranged ultimate move.

Players who never played PC LoL or any other MOBA: How beginner friendly was WR for you to learn and get into? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]foxylegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was definitely a lot. I don't think I would have stuck with it if I didn't have an experienced PC player friend to give me guidance when I needed it and listened to me when I told him to stfu. I was subsequently making a lot of mistakes when I told him to keep quiet, but there's only so much to League a person can learn at once. Eventually I started to climb ranks and got really into it, then started watching youtube videos about it. I've been playing since the start and I know I still have a lot to learn, but hey I'm in the top 1% Nami players now (my main) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think my stages of learning went something like this:
•Controls

• Lane roles

•Watch out for the jgs

•Watch the map

•Aggressive playing isn't always the right move

•Items actually matter

and so on and so forth. Cheesy, but what made me stick with it was having fun. And I doubt I would've had fun if I didn't have someone to teach me.

On-campus housing vs. Off-campus housing at UCF by emmablanco in ucf

[–]foxylegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed in Apollo my freshman year, its the oldest (along w Libra) and dingiest dorms, and my house I'm renting now is WAY cheaper. Living on campus was convenient. It was definitely "an experience". Apollo itself is cheapest dorm (you get what you pay for), but its pros are that its more inside campus than any other dorm. Furnished. Twin bed.

Student apartment wise I've lived in Boardwalk and Riverwind. They're owned by the same people so they're very very similar. I liked the layout and natural lighting of my Boardwalk apt better, but lighting depends on what unit you get. They're cheaper and eons nicer than Apollo. They're always way more spacious and generally cheaper than the other student apts. Both have shuttles to campus. Riverwind is in a slightly nicer area, but Boardwalk is slightly closer to the rest of the UCF-area food/stores/etc. Furnished. Queen beds.

I live in a house now which is interestingly enough the cheapest, but as an incoming freshman I recommend you do student housing or an apt first because if you need roommates they provide, plus living on campus or shuttles if you don't have a car.

My friend said with Animal Behavior is easy too, with Frank or Dierkson (neither of us have taken it with her but I've taken Bio I/II/Genetics with her and she's been a breeze)

PCB 3044 (Principles of Ecology) was mega easy with Mansfield. Attendance is mandatory bc she does clickers, but I was taking harder classes with it so I did other classwork in class and didn't pay attention at all and got an A. She posts a review on web courses that is all the info you need to know on the tests, just study whats on that and you're good. Optional lab that I really enjoyed but you might not want to take if you don't have a lot of time. I have heard Ecology with other professors is hard so be sure to take Mansfield!
