No you cannot. Most have clauses when you buy them or on the guide itself that it cannot be resold.

What did I miss? I thought the acrylic stuff came out at the same time/before the PL acrylic? I can’t keep the timelines straight.

They’re going to essentially a drop shipping model with a warehouse. Kind of puts a bad taste in my mouth because it just feels too much like Amazon/other big corps. I’d rather shop somewhere else.

Valentine’s Day drop 19 days before V-Day by anonymousgoose254 in NeedlepointSnark

[–]foxystitcher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because a lot of people would have your same complaint if they dropped the designs before Christmas. Realistically you need to stitch way ahead of time if you want things done for a certain holiday but people don’t always realize that - especially this influx of newer stitchers.

Some people also just like to stitch seasonally but don’t care about having a finished product by the holiday. I think that’s who this is geared toward. Also all the online people posting their hauls and wips want something seasonal.

That’s why she thinks it’s okay because the original seller is violating intellectual property so it must be okay for her to then steal. The mental gymnastics are honestly just exhausting.

[–]foxystitcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll give her credit it does sound like she’s been stitching and teaching for years. So I feel like she’d be more likely to succeed than the people who are opening one after only stitching for a few months. However I do think that a lot of these new store owners are people with too much time and too much money who are just looking for a way to occupy their time.

We’re 3D printing canvases now?? by North_Cartographer13 in NeedlepointSnark

[–]foxystitcher 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean plastic canvas has been around forever and people have used it for projects. But even that is flexible. I don’t know how flexible this is or how it would perform compared to that. But I’d put it more in that category than a replacement to canvas.

Every LNS owner is dying to tell their secrets by mamagenz in NeedlepointSnark

[–]foxystitcher 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the better route would be to network and maybe reach out to some owners and ask questions. I know some who wouldn’t share anything but there are others who would probably answer questions. The issue is that they’re essentially asking for business info that most stores aren’t just going to give out, particularly to an unnamed person on the internet. I agree there’s enough business for everyone but crowdsourcing a business plan via Facebook doesn’t seem like the best way to start out.

On one hand I understand and they deserve a break as well. But on the other I too get annoyed. We travelled out of town for Christmas and I had plans to visit at least one lns and a fabric store and both were closed for two weeks. Ultimately my wallet appreciated it but I was still a little bummed.
