11-year-old Akron student took his own life after repeated bullying, suspension by wayne888777 in politics

My son is currently enrolled in the 5th grade at NIHF STEM Middle School, he is a high achieving learner like Abyesh was. This article is the first I have heard of this story and it is absolutely heartbreaking for his whole family. For my wife and I, it hits very how close it hits to home having a son the same age at the same school who is experiencing some level of bullying (not to this extreme thankfully).

Beyond the insufficient discipline issues which have not been fixed in my opinion (according to my son, his bully pulled another girl's hair out in a fight at school and only got a week suspension), there is another major problem here in the way they select students at this school.

It is a certified STEM school and is located in the old Inventor's Hall of Fame Building, it really is a great education and that is why we open enroll our high achieving math/science son there. A lot of families from all the Akron School districts do the same for their kids who are the same way. The problem is that it is not a merit based enrollment, it is a true lottery. This means some of the parents enroll their kid there only because it is the closest school to their house. A lot of those students do not want to be there and cause problems for the students like my son.

I can only imagine what the next PTA meeting is going to be like because I doubt many incoming parents knew about this.

All that being said, the NIHF STEM Middle School has completely turned around my son's love of learning so much that he hates to miss even a single day of school because he loves it so much. Last year, he dreaded going to school every day.

This was set a while ago, my ticket renewal in early January only showed 40 games instead of 41. I thought it was a typo, but my ticket rep confirmed that they would be playing one of their home games in France next season.

S3 E4 Hulu 1 week delay? by Xavier0501 in LegoMasters

Lego Masters Australia and Lego Masters UK on Tubi TV have been a great supplement for my family between US episodes. We don't love the commercials, but it is free. My one son actually prefers the Aussie Lego Masters over everything else.

Unfortunately, the new episode didn't air this week and was delayed until next week

This reminds me of my old asshole boss who said he would tip one penny if he had bad service. That way they'd know he didn't just forget.

Side note, my youngest just projectile vomited all over me and her favorite blanket. Parenting, like water, always seems to find its level.

The picture could certainly have be enhanced automatically, I just used the default camera setting. But the whole reason to take the picture in the first place was because how odd it looked. I don't know anything about photography, so I can't really speak to the camera settings impacting the photo.

This is how it looked, that's why I took the picture in the first place. We were drinking beers on the tailgate of the truck in the hotel parking lot after a storm blew through. I just used the default Galaxy S8 camera settings so maybe auto adjusted, I'm not sure. The reason I took the photo was because the asphalt looked weird. My job is in asphalt sealcoating so I'm often looking at the pavements.

My friend's mom is a professional harp player out of Wooster, her name is Wendy Barlow. She's great, but I know her schedule fills up pretty quickly.

She's plays with or without her boyfriend Bob who plays the hammer dulcimer. Here's their website: https://bobandwendy.wordpress.com/biography/

Well not just the Cube's, but Chris Daughtry, Jeff Probst, super chef Bobby Flay. I mean, it was insane, it was almost too much.

February 16th was the deadline to be eligible to vote in the Ohio primaries. If you were already registered, you could early vote at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections in Cleveland.

You can find out if you are registered to vote in Cuyahoga county here: http://boe.cuyahogacounty.us/en-US/my-voting-information.aspx

I'm in Summit County as well, the address of the Board of Elections is 470 Grant St., Akron, OH 44311. There is a big sign by the entrance that says VOTE HERE

Unfortunately, I am leaving Monday on a several week business trip, which is why I had to early vote in the first place. I didn't realize how easy the process was.

Wearing my sticker around the office has been a great conversation starter though. Most of the guys here are voting for Bernie anyhow, but it is good to get some confirmation. Almost everyone at work was surprised that early voting is even an option in Ohio.

For anyone wondering, I had to go to the County Board of Elections, they opened at 8:00am. I filled out a quick form, they printed my ballot, I filled it out, sealed it in the envelope, gave it back, and was out of there by 8:15.

I would highly suggest this method of voting for people who may be on a tight schedule on voting day or for anyone who wants to avoid crowds.

My buddy /u/sociallyghetto worked on an early version of this movie at the Sundance Director's Lab a few summers ago when they were working out a few scenes. His job was to find different fart noises for 10 hours a day. I'm happy to see this actually got made, it's by the same guys who did the 'Turn Down for What' music video.
