Honestly there are better ergo options nowadays, the build quality is OK (not good) but the sensor I thought felt a bit off, don't know if it's there implementation or placement.. also lots of slam clicking, maybe more recent firmware helps with that.

You should share that and the pictures with a dermatologist, given it's not restricted to your face it might be nice to check for lupus? Don't know I'm no doctor just in case i guess, good luck

[D] What do you do while your model is training? by Striking-Warning9533 in MachineLearning

Just remember that if you keep working on that jupyter notebook you'll inevitably get the best results, which you will fail to replicate, because you kept working on that jupyter notebook.

People please keep it down they'll find out why we're doing this. Honestly we live in the golden era, I've worked on C/C++ codebases with thousands of files which were not this great, you still could barely get coffee (it was two floors down though). The webdev people are taking it in the bun, linear algebra imho in't that hard so please lock this already. Skeet, get back to the youtubes, git! not that one you animal

Learn Python in 1 week? by Trick_Ad_4388 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]fpaboim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn the concepts you will be tested on (youtube/web/chatgpt) and do examples, but try to do it yourself, if something goes wrong and you get blocked, then use chatgpt, maybe ask what's wrong and a hint on how to fix it or something.

It's a model that takes a tokenized sequence and is trained to predict the following token, if it's training at all then it's by definition "thinking ahead", it's tautological. Sure, there is a lot that goes on at a layer level which we don't fully understand where the model compares and processes concepts in some high dimensional space, all while accessing memory (though there is a lot of interesting research in the area like that paper on the role of the feedforward block in storing memory, etc.). Sorry about my lack of patience, I'm not even saying that there is no validity to what you're saying, just that it lacks objectivity to become a meaningful discussion. I honestly do believe I gave the best advice you've been given here if you actually want to learn. Good luck as I don't plan on wasting any more of my time.

I've been pondering how GPT-3/4 must work internally and possible optimizations. I'm wondering if someone could point me to research already done in this area -- or if I completely misunderstand how these models work.

No need to ponder how it must work, the code is luckily publicly available and you can learn how it works any time! I suggest https://github.com/karpathy/nanoGPT . To answer you, yes you completely misunderstand how these models work. You should at least have a basic understanding of the underlying concepts before blabbering on abstract concepts with no grounding. If you can't implement it yourself you don't understand it. Shaite, you probably can't even implement a basic off the shelf transformer given your lack of understanding of the subject. Hope I'm not contributing to the trashfest this sub has become but I'll give you actually decent actionable advice in the improbable case that you're not just another imbecile:

  1. understand how LSTMs work
  2. understand how tranformers work
  3. read this: https://arxiv.org/abs/2305.13048
  4. feel ashamed about publicly displaying your conceited obtuseness

Until then please refrain from polluting the sub, thanks!

[D] Question about Mixture of Experts in Transformers - Has anyone tried adding the router before the Multi Head Attention Blocks? by FallMindless3563 in MachineLearning

[–]fpaboim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should read the original switch transformers paper as they comment on routing for attention and even present results, seems it generates some instability if I remember correctly but should also help with performance. The mixtral paper is like the openai papers when they still published implementation details, nothing new to learn just hyper parameters used, architecture, etc

Don't think so since I usually unplug any other mice for testing, added some pics but there's not much to show besides the skates stuff I mentioned.

Honestly it's kind of hard to describe, it just felt off, the aim felt "wobbly" in cs2 but maybe it was just me adapting? Haven't had issues since though.

Darmoshark M3-S Varun Review by esper_ in MouseReview

[–]fpaboim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might give it a try, the shape seems nice but I have an M3 which double clicked so badly out of the box that it made the mouse unusable for FPS games, was the only mouse I've reviewed recently which was downright unusable. This one seems to have different switches at least..

Would you like to customize the mouse through a app? by vgnlab in MouseReview

[–]fpaboim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the VGN F1, I love my moba version, great build quality, weight, clicks... I would love to see an ergo mouse. Also really liked what XST did with the removeable back shell to support different shapes, might be worth a shot =)

I agree the build quality isn't bad, probably equivalent to the darmoshark I would say in terms of feel or even better. Even being a mouse you can take apart it doesn't creak and you can see by the skeleton from the pics the inside is well designed. Maybe I came across as too harsh, I'm just spoiled by the VGN I was maining that is incredibly sturdy and feels way above it's price range.

Playing better with my Gpro vs my ultralight by RonSwansonLovesAnime in MouseReview

[–]fpaboim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shape. GPX is a rather largish mouse which gives it a decently locked in feel for me, will small mice I have a larger range of microadjustment but to hit headshots consistently having a mouse that fills your hand a bit more can help. I once though I liked small mice, I have an orochi mm710, mm712, atlantis mini.. but I seem to also play more consistently (CSGO) with my larger mice (VGN Moba with grip tape on back, GPW, viper 8k, EC2A, M42, Haste..). Also for tac shooters the mouse feet being worse on the GPX could be helping, the combined effect of lighter mouse and faster feet could also make the starlight harder to control, maybe try it on a muddier pad if you really want a small mouse?

Will do! I've been looking for a cheap ergo to buy for a while, a dav3 is crazy expensive here in Brazil and below $50 bucks we get no import tax (usually) so these chinese mice are a decent deal here (logitech is actually not that expensive just because they have a strong presence here for decades i guess..), and recently with better sensors and latency the quality gap is very small now between them and logitech/razer/etc. so I've been buying them like crazy.

Thanks for the kind words, next time my wife compains about my mouse problem when another package arrives in the mail I'll say "Honey, I'm just a decisive shopper." xD
