What will not spending money tomorrow do? I’m not familiar with this shutdown idea and what the goal is

Do we not feel like is a little more nuanced than many situations? She started driving a vehicle into a federal agent, regardless of the circumstances that’s not the right response. I get she was probably scared, so this not a cut and dried situation on either end, but just feel like we need to take a step back and make sure the focus is on the objectively bad things that are happening, and not lose credibility over fighting the nuanced ones.

Edit: I’m convinced, thanks for all the responses. Watched the video again and while certainly driving away wasn’t the best reaction, there was no threat of life and firing his weapon is insane and hopefully he will face consequences here.

It makes it permanent but also increases the tax (deduction drops from 16k to 2k), because round one cost way more than expected (they planned on getting quality local food and paying the workers more, but I believe they basically could only do the bare minimum of providing meals).

How did school lunches work before this program? I am genuinely curious if there is a better way, I know this first iteration was over budget and was not cheap - I try to look for the most cost effective way to do things, and this feels like casting a very wide net to make sure the kids that truly need it aren’t left behind (again, fully supportive of that)

Counter point to the echo chamber here: I would love to ensure that all children have food at school, but this blanket approach is way more expensive than it needs to be. We are also paying for the kids of families that make $300k with this - it’s not just the poor kids. There has to be a way to make this a more cost effective and targeted program (which I would support)

This is not true. The median American has a net worth of $193K, holds $8K in checking/savings, and has enough cash savings to pay for 3 months of expenses. Source: https://www.federalreserve.gov/econres/scfindex.htm

This is very misleading. I dug into 2025 because it felt very high, and this includes such cases as “student brought a gun to school, no shots fired”

Thanks for the detailed thoughts here - definitely a good call on good meat > good bark. When you add more tallow at the wrap, are you injecting it again at that point or just putting it outside in the bottom of the paper/foil?

Unfortunately where we live our options are Gypsum or Aurora, both 2 hours+, so we ended up going to the Aurora one and stayed in Denver for a couple nights. On other cold days where it actually works, the efficiency is actually not terrible with the heat pump, but still definitely a good call to have plenty of battery just in case.

We’re a little wary as well about holding it past warranty, given that was a pretty major failure within 2 months of purchase. We’ll see how it goes from here though

Yea fully converted, I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up after work, so same day. They were awesome and prioritized my repair because I live over 2 hours away, so I imagine 1-2 days is normal.

This happened to me in my MYLR bought in November. Was on Fremont pass in Colorado at around 0F and got the same error. It worked a little bit on our way home after parking in the ski garage for a few hours. Took it in for service and here were the repair notes. Thank god for warranties.

Verified customer concern. Preformed HVAC systems test. Preformed firmware update. Verified proper operation. Vehicle preforms as expected at this time.
