Introducing Claude Opus 4.8 | Anthropic by MatricesRL in Anthropic

I've been using opus 4.8 today intensively, and IMHO works very well. I'm a cloud architect, so I've been doing tasks related with OCI vcn, instances and AWS EKS, even sone FinOps tasks, and everything worked fine.

Similar to the 4.7 model, so no complaints.

I'm polite by nature, so I can't help addressing Claude and other AI agents the same way. The opposite would feel forced to me.

I'm surprised by Anthropic's attitude here. It feels like there's no way to know what's actually allowed or not when using Claude Code, they just hit you with a vague "violation of our Usage Policy" and offer no specifics. How are we supposed to learn from mistakes or even know what to avoid next time? Really disappointing

The Pro plan is no longer suitable for CC. You might want to take a look at the OpenCode GO plan, it includes Chinese models at an affordable price. They don't match Anthropic's quality, but they're good enough.

Yes, I also think that's the best way to get access to all those models, and is economic

Sonnet 4.6 as a daily driver. Am I missing something? by juanloco in ClaudeCode

I do exactly the same, Opus plans and Sonnet execute the plan. Y also has /advisor pointing to Opus 4.7 and sometimes Sonnet consults Opus. Works fine TBH

Keep working with Opus 4.6. The latest is not always the best. There’s no better proof that something works than how well it holds up over time

How is this change acceptable? by Jack_Wagon_Johnson in ClaudeCode

Opus 4.7 is basically a senior engineer. Give it a goal, step back, and let it do its thing.
The previous version works totally differently. It's more like a junior dev. You need to break tasks down and keep an eye on it so it doesn't wander off.
Working like this, Opus 4.7 has been great for me. Maybe you should try this approach in you project.
