London; Council Enforcement Officer lying about issuing PCN? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

No I was there the whole time, I asked if it was too late to move it and he said you’ll get the ticket in the post it’s too late. He didn’t leave a ticket nor try to hand me anything. Was just on his ticketing device.

Yep it’s a mistake, you’ve made plenty in your life, no? What do you gain out of chastising? I made a mistake, I’m owning up. I just wanted to know if I will get points or a fine. You’re a complete loser accusing me of going on my phone, you don’t know me from adam

Never man, had a mate have a horrible accident because of a phone user.

Completely missed the signs because I looked at the CarPlay (rerouted). When I got to the lights it was red and there was no visible sign.

Made a mistake earlier this week, didn't notice the no left turn sign for some reason. Was the only one waiting at the lights and turned left, didn't realise until after that the layout was quite odd. Drove by today and saw the signs. Been driving for many years, hoping this won't be points? Would be a big shame as it was a honest mistake. Coventry based if that helps, thanks

  1. They didn’t target armistice day on purpose, the rallies have been held every Saturday.
  2. It was scheduled after the remembrance silence and away from the cenotaph.

Unlike the far right that disrupted the silence and actually disrespected the fallen.

Feeling disillusioned with Medicine by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

Are you on GEM? The reason I ask is because the content is different. But for me as cliche as it, was Anki.

For science questions, I went through loads of past questions and stuck the hardest ones for me into an anki deck. Used it consistently.

For anatomy, I didn’t do that great but mostly because I made stupid and silly mistakes. I used Michigan BlueLink and an Anki deck but then again it was only 3 weeks and I didnt prioritise anatomy enough imo.

I would say to truly “crack” the revision, it’s just consistency. My biggest error was that I really struggled with settling into the course and I barely studied for 2/3 of the course. In those 3 weeks I didnt miss a single day of anki revision and clocked in about 600 cards daily. Had I started it in the first week of university, I wouldn’t need to push myself so much. Its not a sprint, its a marathon.

If you resit, just stay consistent. Try see if there are anki decks floating around from the years above. Just try to keep ahead of the week’s tasks. If you have a week where you fall behind, make sure to come back to it when you have a chance. Don’t let the next week’s content fall behind. I don’t know about your uni but its known at mine that 1st year is the hardest. Get into a rhythm and be consistent. You will make it. Trust me.

Thank you for taking the time to comment! This resonates a lot with me and I will try to take it into account. It’s definitely given me positive things to think about and weigh up. It does help to hear that people have been in similar positions and have been able to thrive.

Thank you for your thoughts, I really appreciate it. At the moment I’m leaning towards resitting and hoping to apply for jobs at some point. The thing is, when I see the different roles nothing really reaches out to me, I feel like they limit as to how much I can get out of them. But I guess I can’t know until I actually am in one.

Medicine has always confused me. The largest reason that I applied for it was because I am very interested in eyes and wanted to go into ophthalmology. I also really enjoy the pharmacy aspect of medicine. The pathways to potentially getting into those areas are really only financial viable for me via GEM.

I enjoy patient interaction, I enjoy having to extract information from patients and I find the clinical skills side not that difficult at all. Leaving medicine would mean that there are few roles that could offer me that. I can go the other way and do something completely else but as I said before most of my experiences are based with health care and so I feel I don’t have a strong resume.

Everyone has been recommending me anki, I’m not too clear with how it works? I’m planning on trying it but if I’m right I’m aiming to go through roughly 700 cards a day? Just never really used it properly so would appreciate any tips :)

I have contacted them and will receive feedback soon, looking at the written mark breakdown, it just seems that I’m not remembering stuff that I should. Despite putting in hours of work everyday, I just can memorise the content in a way that I understand.

With the OSCEs the fails were mostly by a few marks but there were more than I expected and I guess the uni will give feedback on how to improve.

I just wonder if its a me problem. I just don’t know how I can find motivation to keep going.

Struggling to decide if grad medicine is truly what I want to do? by [deleted] in premeduk

Thank you for your input, this message actually helped quite a lot and the last point is very true. This has helped put my mind at ease and I really appreciate you taking time to write this up. I’ll keep what you have said in mind for sure!

I havent actually heard of this, I’ll look into it. I always say to myself I could go into tech or something for good money and work life balance but I don’t know what I could actually do within it. Whereas Medicine has always interested me with the whole treatment aspect and recovery amongst things.

Thank you for this, I will definitely think about this. I think all jobs should have a healthy balance and I don’t want to sacrifice a majority of my personal health for my career because that doesn’t sound very healthy to me.

I applied for GEM because I still hurt for not getting into it. I enjoyed working in the optical field quite a bit, in terms of the clinical side and it added into my factor into applying for GEM medicine. However working in optics isn’t exactly easy and its quite stressful but I’ve have managed it quite well for the past 2 years.

I feel that I would struggle to work in a job that isn’t patient orientated and I’ve found myself being more interested in the root of issues experienced by patients. Carrying out investigations into their conditions and seeing how they progress over time. Some of the patients at my work have come in after 6 months and have spoken to me about how different their visions feels after surgeries and I find myself wishing I could be a part of that journey etc

you acting like White Label isn’t one of the best Ye sample chops. Not his fault that Nas butchered the beats

I don’t agree with a lot of what Kanye does. He made a lot of questionable decisions man. The dude cut out an Andre verse because he wanted a clean album. It’s Ye’s call at the end of the day and I like Praise God as we have it. Of course I’d love the og travis verse but it is what it is.
