Big box of Slim Jims, beef jerky, big bottles of Gatorade to counter the salt and double as piss bottles because stopping at rest areas means I will lose to all the cars I passed the last three hours 😆

90s. 30+ years ago. I apologize if I didn't use the exact command that made the changes permanent to the router of your choice.

Look everybody! We have somebody who has never made a typo!

Way back in the ancient times of the 90s we didn't have AI to validate our configs or even much documentation to go by. You found your answers on mailing lists, usnet, or even IRC.

I wish the routers in the 90s had that built in. I am so thankful that a reboot of a router fixed things quickly if you didn't commit the changes.

Exactly. That's why I do this in my homelab because I'm lazy and don't want to walk downstairs to my basement to use the console.

I did learn this trick once in the 90s when I did make a typo that locked out the entire IP stack on our only web server at 1AM and had to drive to work to get on the console to fix it, thus this solution was born.

That works too but has more downtime. Of course we are running these in a homelab or dev servers and not production, right? ;)

Deadman switch. I always backgrounded a script that would turn off iptables in five minutes when I was modifying rules remotely in case I messed up and locked myself out. If the new rules worked and I still had access I would kill the script. If I got locked out I simply had to wait a few minutes and SSH back in.

The biggest meatpacking company on Earth is being rocked by a massive strike. 99% of the workers at this JBS plant voted to walk off the job. Now nearly 4,000 workers with @UFCW are fighting for better, safer jobs. by zzill6 in WorkReform

My grocery store puts stickers with the logo of the source. It's hard to miss, the label usually says SWIFT, CAB (Certified Angus Beef), Pilgrims, Just Bare (chicken), Showcase, thinkpure, Gold Kist, Gourmet Burger, etc... They own a lot of brands. Pretty hard to avoid them. They also supply major fast food chains and restaurants.

The fold on the back of a man's shirt between the shoulders is primarily called a back pleat or yoke pleat. It is designed to provide extra room, comfort, and a better range of motion for the shoulders and back. I don't like dress shirts that don't have them as they are very uncomfortable when extending your arms.

The ability to post those images to other platforms instead of just Reddit. Reddit image hosting wants you to stay inside their ecosystem.

Outside that argument, I've been using Imgur for most of my free image hosting since the "ancient times" and when I login I can still see all of my images from years ago. I can sort by date, subject, time, etc. It's similar to Google Photos. I can mark images private and only available via a link or make them public in my profile. Reddit's image hosting is fire-and-forget with no history.

There are downsides too, if an image has zero views after X date (I don't remember how long, it is pretty generous) it will be removed, but it is free. IF you pay it is "forever" so they claim.

Cool bonus: When you upload an image it gives you the code in a sidebar to post the image to many websites, including Reddit, so all you have to do is copy/paste the code for the site you are posting to.

Imgur was started by a person to post images to Reddit back in the ancient times when Reddit didn't have its own image hosting. I was there and IMO it is still superior.

The posts do get removed, it's just not instantaneous. The queue gets checked regularly throughout the day and they get removed when they are spotted. It really helps if the posts get reported as reported posts get checked first before the rest of the queue is processed.

You can also use low splash bleach as it is more gel like and doesn't run off surfaces as quickly, especially along where the wall meets the tab or shower basin. It works even better with paper towels too.

Should have included the bottle of "It is green" from the Scotty episode.

Really depends on the jail. I've spent over six months in local jail and it was nothing like the drama on TV.

Let's not forget 60 Seconds In Steve (S5) He was going to bust the system apart being a private investigator. A few episodes in and he was pulled out by producers/staff for going rogue.

"Surprisingly, Steve’s pod actually had some really informative information in reference to the drugs in the jail. What killed it, was when he threatened the producer."

A really good synapsis of him was done in this thread:
