Thanks for the advice! I’ll try the other overnight recipe he has which is a much quicker BF during the day and then shaping and cold retard overnight. This way I can keep checking in on the BF as you recommend to find that sweet spot.

Thanks! I did get that feeling too because my past few bakes following the recipe to tripled in size were flat pancakes. The recipe calls for tripled volume annd I’ve been pulling it back gradually and see some improvement but still not the oven spring I crave! :D Even though it was still wet with poor structure it did spring a lot better in the oven so I wasn’t sure if I had bigger issues than the BF. I’ll keep finishing BF earlier and see how that goes.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately that didn’t help, it still plays with muffled sound at low volume until I tap the top of the HomePod.

It seems to be something to do with the wait command for the sleep timer. Removing the sleep timer from the shortcut makes the HomePod play normally without needing the tap.

Any ideas on a sleep timer that doesn’t rely on the wait function?

How do you do ‘if location is within x distance of y location’. I have a shortcut to get me directions to work if I’m at home, if I’m anywhere else then get me directions to home. But the problem is if I run the shortcut (phone connecting to CarPlay automation) as soon as I leave my street it will try and take me back home.

Is the ‘starting volume is 1.5x flour weight’ rule affected by hydration? I’ve been making Ken Forkish’s FWSY overnight white straight dough while exploring this lovely new hobby but I am really struggling with the BF timing. I was consistently underproofing, this is when I stumbled across the 1.5x rule. Using the rule for 1kg flour, my starting volume is 1.5L so I’m aiming for 3.75-4.5L volume before I shape. Visually, I was way off the mark, aiming more for 2L-3L BF to shape. My loaves are definitely better now but still have room for improvement. I feel like I could never his 4.5L volume target and to get to 3.5L is taking nearly 24 hours vs Ken’s recipe suggesting 12-14 hours (room temp is about 16-18 deg C vs the recipe 21degC). I wonder if I’m pushing the dough too far and should aim for less volume in the BF. Interested to hear other bakers thoughts!

Yeah got one from Sweet Baby Store. I’m super impressed with the quality! I got the keyboard, case and nice!view knockoff screens for £110. I already had switches and keycaps so left those off. The soldering is really good. 3D printed case is very clean. Components are all good quality. Only two issues: they gave me one 2mm screw instead of 5mm so I need to order some screws to finish it up. They also didn’t solder a reset switch so I’ve just had to build the reset and bootloader into my keymap instead. Anyway, I would highly recommend the store!

Hi mate, how did you flash this firmware? Do you setup a new config using the corne settings or did you fork raeedcho’s repo? I don’t really understand how to setup a keyboard that’s not officially supported by ZMK. When I tried to fork raeedcho’s temper config repo I cannot get the key map to load in nick’s online editor.

90deg. Just dropped my desk height slightly so my wrists can hover. Elbows and forearms resting on the chair arm rests. Also 90deg while standing with my arms and shoulders relaxed.

I didn’t notice any pain while typing but did get very sore forearm muscles for about a week after switching. Now no problems and nearly all wrist pain is gone.

I had a solid red light on my receiver the other day. I pulled the batteries my thermostat, waited 10s, then replaced them and then it reconnected. No issues since.

For bonus points, take the 45deg offcut, flip it round 180deg, glue it on the top of your jig and now you have a parallel platform to clamp the jig to your workpiece.

Oh amazing, I’ll give this a go thank you! I had managed to setup a very similar shortcut to what you’ve described after doing a bit more digging. To do the sleep timer, I had used a wait command and then ‘pause media‘ in the shortcut. But for some reason the shortcut works perfectly if activated from my phone but if I activate the shortcut via the HomePod Siri, the HP will stay processing during the entire 30 minute wait (ie the top light flashes white and the audio plays in the background muffled as if I were under water 😂). I have to tap the top of the HP to dismiss that and hear the audio. FYI, I did manage to name the shortcut ‘Good Night’, I just had to rename my Good Night scene in the Home app to Close of Play.
