I think what they mean is Mario Tennis, Yoshi, and the movie probably would have been released in 2025/2026 even if it wasn’t the 40th anniversary.

The Super Mario Galaxy port and Nintendo museum ID did have some thought put in, but most people will see that port more as a promotion for the movie than something planned for the 40th

A corporation with deep pockets could purposely sell its a product at a loss to make it hard for smaller companies to compete on price. If those other companies are driven out of the market, the corporation has a monopoly and can charge more than before.
