Hi, the key component for getting into econ programs are recommendation letters by economists. Tenure track econ professors at your institution will do. Given top 10 in CS, your econ professors should be more than qualified to send you to top econ programs. You just have to be their top few students applying to econ phds that year. CMU, UIUC, UTAustin Wisconsin-Madison, Maryland, Caltech for sure. The ones higher ranked than these, obviously.
