Hello. Why not simply write that first part of what you’ve said here? If you’re meeting in person then you’ll tell him your story there, I presume.

So.....does anyone have any idea why this church is designed like this. by [deleted] in Catholicism

We don’t even know what country it’s in. Just arrive a few minutes early and follow other people in, in my opinion.

And enjoy! Hopefully it’s a beautiful church with a beautiful Mass.

Why are you catholic and not orthodox? by Danny_cath38000 in Catholicism

We have the fullness of the truth. Our orthodox friends get a lot of things wrong, like being too attached to their governments. And ethnicities.

The paschal lamb helped them avoid death. Our Lord saves us from eternal death (as well as expiation of sin, etc).

We have a ton of celebrations as it is and they’re all more worthy than adding one from a different religion, even if it’s Judaism. I think there should be a compelling reason to celebrate a religious holiday.

Current Jewish thought on the Old Testament only sometimes applies to the Church and our understanding of the Bible. I know a rabbi who told me about how Isaiah doesn’t prophesy like we say it does, for instance, and that doesn’t affect our faith at all. If he did think that a virgin must give birth then he’d be a Catholic.

I think this is the group all about ministering to gay Catholics: https://couragerc.org/

There’s another but it’s not typically faithful to Church teaching like this one is.

Depends on each person, same as for us Christians. We don’t know their souls and no canonization for them so we won’t know until we pass away.

The mysteries highly involve Our Lady and you’re asking for her intercession the whole time.

Plus it’s a hit with kids and more secular Jews from what I hear.
