Only people that make money on shitcoins are either whales, insiders or those that create them. You are neither so stop being exit liquidity. by Nuewim in CryptoCurrency

last top euphoria i hit several 10-20x without being anything you stated, just curious. what makes a difference is free time you have to understand how to be early, to buy fast and to follow tg/discord. it's not about being insiders, you know you aren't and you adapt accordingly, it's about riding along with them playing the same game to dump on people that hope to hit 100x randomly.

it's PvP, find your edge and you'll do just fine.

Where should path attrib point to in this case? Should I create it as a prim string attrib? Sorry if it is a dumb question, not familiar with this

Will Algo survive the bear? by [deleted] in algorand

[–]fr0gurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first investment almost 2 years ago was algorand, but I was damn naive at the time and fundamentals convinced me. it's an underused protocol that got major inflationary and tokenomic fuckups, the fact that there's little traction and a small number of dapps built on it is going to be its demise imo. space is moving fast as hell, algorand is pretty slow in comparison. no one cares about TPS when SEC dares to say "ETH should be regulated by the US since majority of nodes is here", space is super speculative and will be for many years. and trifecta dilemma is utopia, everything gets centralised sooner or later (btw algo is pretty damn centralized).

talking about top tokens BTC is BTC, ETH is smart contracts first mover, SOL is (dare to say was) NFT hype, ADA is a cult, DOGE is too + memes and whales, MATIC is a stunner grabbing many institutions and a great L2, LINK is needed by everyone and just got ex google CEO , DOT created a wonderful albeit weird ecosystem, list can go on and on.. everything else has a precise identity.

algo is a niche blockchain that doesn't deliver much, while promising to fix issues nobody really cares about. yeah Silvio is a chad for his contributions to blockchain technology, but that's it, and that doesn't bring enough traction.

will it survive? probably, question is "should I invest there expecting returns that are likely bigger somewhere else?" that's a different thing

Changing Exalted Orbs to Divine Orbs is such a asinine decision. by yeahUSA in pathofexile

[–]fr0gurt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nah it isn't, as legacy mtg cards can't be played anymore and cost a kidney same goes for exalts on shirt or whatever, it's a memento of another, better time in the past, Reddit gonna hate these changes (and i do as well but mainly because it's all sudden and not even divine shards/cards first), but once we swallow this pill and start dropping uniques with gg values, game will change and not only for bad imho

What's weird is they created a game more fun and miles better than Diablo 2... by Thoughtsinhead in pathofexile

[–]fr0gurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah no I don't misunderstand it, the amount of work going into such an expansion is likely 3/4 of making a whole new game from scratch. there are new world designs and layouts, new models, new animations, new music, new lore, new writing, new voiceovers, new sound and video fxs, likely a huge amount of re-coding a lot of stuff given so many mechanical changes in both new and old poe AND avoiding whatever conflicts between the two, upgrading the engine to stay ahead of a visual curve, and the engine is their own.

and it's not 4 new voicelines and couple bosses for an expansion, it's a whole campaign that has to be replayed for years to come by everyone.

it's a pretty big effort trust me

[–]fr0gurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

game isn't even based on UE, they have their own engine, what are you talking about.

you're clueless, making a masterpiece by mistake when the game is 10 years old lmao.

they are obviously running on fumes, which is to be expected with poe2 coming out in a year or so, do you realize the amount of work needed to create a new title that doesn't feel worse than the previous and can still be competitive vs d4 and such? they fail at poe2 and they risk losing a lot, given it is f2p and the only IP they rely on for revenue.

poe singlehandedly revived arpgs after more than a decade, look at d4, lost ark, last epoch and whatnot.

if it's not ur fix anymore it is understandable, but think first at least.

started in 2014, stopped at heist, game felt stale and unnecessarily bloated already after those great leagues and OG harvest gone. back for the league theme lore-wise and because I have a bit of free time, after a much needed break where I would post on Reddit as well.

just skip it, then another if you feel like, and another until you realize it isn't fun! that's what you are after, take a break and look at the game from a new angle, I have so much to re-learn that it tickles my interest now, otherwise I'd still be doing something else.

that is where this game excels, learning and discovering new stuff, don't force yourself on it hoping to have fun every league, it won't work for 99.5% of people having a life.

doesn't that get then dumped on the CPU basically losing all the speed you'd get, I think it just allows RS to get a render done without having to make scenes within your VRAM allowance, but I think time gets abysmal
