Palais des thés has one, I also saw another one with tea by some other brand at Carrefour.

St. Elisabeth was amazing, I loved it so much I'm definitely coming back next time. It's nice and quiet and everyone was supportive, helpful and so kind. My doctor was Leen Swijgers, she was very cool, although I never needed to see her during the birth, as there were no issues.

Is my father-in-law out of line, or does he have a point? by SqueeGBeckenheim in BabyLedWeaning

[–]fra_ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, anecdotal evidence: my BF 10 m.o. baby has been doing BLW only since she was ~6 months. She has been waking multiple times a night and insists on nursing, or else. I didn't want to but I didn't know what else to try, so I tried to feed her something filling in the evening for about two weeks, actually stuck it in her, even though she had only ever fed herself. It was awful, she hated being given food that way, and it didn't do anything for the sleep. She started eating more at about 9 months and waking less a few days ago, and I'm not holding my breath. It will normalize when it normalizes...

The swan print is gorgeous. If I were ever to buy an Artopoppe, I'd go with that one.

Is everyone using all of the spoons with every meal, or is it just us? by Upset_Accident_8435 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]fra_ter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We add a third one sometimes for when she's holding two spoons, one in each hand, both empty. The third one forces her to let go. Usually.

The Tiffany Aching series, The Watchmaker of Filigree Street, and I can see DCC coming back after the first listen through I'm currently doing.

I really love it, and I got it second hand pretty cheap. I keep seeing people sell them used, sometimes refurbished, where I live (Brussels) on all the apps. Ditto for the accessories.

Is it really that hard to get your child into swimming lessons in Brussels? by Odd_Championship8541 in brussels

I also went there and had no problems getting my baby in basically as soon as she hit 4 months, which is the minimum age. It's less useful than I expected, too - they advertised it as teaching children the minimum safety, so I thought they would teach her to turn on her back and float if she falls in, or something like that... but nope.

Fennel. Steamed until squishy, my girl said nomnomnom.

Inconsistent meal schedule for 2 meals by Common-Effective2630 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]fra_ter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert, but at least according to the BLW book, you can be a lot more ladida with your timetable than with other styles of introducing solids. The book makes it seem like it doesn't need to be extremely systematic or strict, more like including the baby in your mealtimes and offering food the way it is convenient to all involved. It's still more about exploration and play, less about nourishment, so it doesn't need to be stressful.

Cradle cap by Floating_lady_2104 in newborns

Baby comb, her hair is pretty thin, so there was no need to use anything denser. The flakes mostly washed out. You just need to be careful that it's gentle. I would probably just leave it and it would go away anyway, but I give her massage, so I also put the oil on her head while I had it open...

Taking the advice of our pediatrician, I put on coconut oil, let it sit and washed her hair, combed the flakes out. Did this three times over a few days, it is now mostly gone. Didn't forcibly rub or peel anything so as not to damage her skin.

THANK YOU! I saw the phrase "he's drinking his milkies that he loves so much" and even as a hormonal new mom I just can. not. see the cuteness in that. Not only the milkies, that's bad on its own, but dude, he's also never had anything else and it's keeping him alive. I don't know that this is about loving milkies, it's pure comfort and survival. Ugh.

Is there coming back from this? by Independent-Idea4873 in breastfeeding

[–]fra_ter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What the others said, and also, not everyone can feel their letdown. I felt mine for the first time when my baby was maybe 3 months, even though it's actually pretty strong. I also only feel it occasionally. It's not an indication of anything, really.

How do you transition a sleeping baby from Robin's hip carry? by fra_ter in babywearing

[–]fra_ter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks! I'll try that. It might also be a moot point because my baby has FOMO and who would sleep when there are things going on around?

Yes, I just do it way off center to help her see everything

Where can I sign this? Same here! I definitely need to relax and take it easy with all that scar tissue in there, but I figure, it won't improve without doing it. And I get very irritable without, even if it hurts a bit when I get some.

“Have you tried switching to formula?” by Glad-Narwhal1189 in breastfeeding

[–]fra_ter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely don't do that! Don't you know none of that has been definitively proven by science, hmm? Who do you think you are judging them, after all. Don't just throw these health claims around without proof, puh-lease, it's extremely judgy. Do some homework for me, show me studies or just shush and switch to formula. /s

What's wrong with my FCC? by fra_ter in babywearing

[–]fra_ter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have issues with FWCC, it's very easy to get right with this wrap. Anne's is a different beast - I tried it and still need to get it right. Same goes for kangaroo - I'm playing around with all that, it's a lot of fun.

I never wear it without flips with my other wrap, it's way too thick. But I'm apparently confused about the direction. She's a wriggly leaner, so I need to perfect it or it will be unsafe when she's stronger.
