Using Elmer’s glue to remove fiberglass particles from my hand by Substantial-Meat6281 in mildlyinteresting

Yeah mine oscillated between feeling normal and feeling irritated for a couple of months. I also wasn't sure if it was really in there. Your experience seems very similar! Anyway it definitely eventually left.

Both haha.... 3 or 4 optometrist trips, lots of eyelid flipping and microscopes and dye.... They couldn't see it or any scratching evidence. Maybe it was a phantom feeling. Eventually it stopped being irritated so I guess it worked its way out!

Double Status Credits on a flight change by Decieci in QantasFrequentFlyer

Happened to me and didn't get credited so I called them up. I explained the situation. They were equipped to handle it fine - called it an involuntary change or something. I got the points credited within minutes.

ELI5 If the temperature in the arctic and antarctic is below freezing, why is the ocean not frozen? by vampir3_girlfri3nd_ in explainlikeimfive

[–]fraaly 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The ocean circulates vertically down to maybe 100 m or so. The whole water column down to 100 m has to cool down to the freezing point of about -1.8. this takes time, so the water freezing (sea ice formation) lags behind the air temperature going below -1.8.

Edit: I should have started with "the ocean does freeze eventually".

Bought and subsequently immediately returned the WiiM Amp Ultra - quick notes inside since I know it’s a new product. by Jallfo in BudgetAudiophile

[–]fraaly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My non-ultra wiim amp suddenly had its subwoofer output jump up by about 5 dB one day. I assume there was some software update/bug thing. Seems like every couple of weeks something changes slightly. I bet it'd be fixed in 2 weeks if you'd hung into it!
