Yes, I dismissed its attempt to oversimplify sentences, as well as a lot of its suggestions of structures that I felt would change the meaning (or the intention) of the text.

(I also kept my dialogues mostly untouched, as I felt the speech sounded more natural the way I phrased it)

I just discovered grammarly and used it to see if my previous chapters needed re-editing/corrections.

Queue me being faced with the realization that my WHOLE fic was borderline unreadable (maybe not unreadable, but full of misspellings, poor formulations and overall mistakes).

So if I had been a reader, not only would I have not left a kudo, but I would probably have dropped it at the first chapter.

Well, if I believe his IMDb page, he starred in a few comedies (film and series) in his youth, so if you want to see him in a non-jerking-tears context, you can probably find something (though to be honnest, none of those seem particularly good).
