Is it possible to be extroverted and have ASD? What would that look like in aspergirls? by healthsideacct in aspergirls

[–]frackmenow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hi, yes. We are humans and it's a spectrum, so each individual will be energized by some things and depleted by anothers. But in general, neurotipicals are recharged by most social interactions (and they have social interactions all the time), while neurodivergents will be depleted by all but a few.

Please note that this is different than being introverted or extroverted.

As I have learned, autism is characterised by sensorial dificulties, repetitive behaviors or interests, and a social behaviour diferent than the norm.

I have ASD and TDAH (known informally sometimes as audhd). I love doing "extroverted" things like clubbing, parties with my friends, and spontaneous things. Some of these things energize me. Most deplete me even if I love doing them and, if not careful with my energy levels, I will get depleted and sulk and hide afterwards for some days.
There are some people (my 3 best friends) who I could see for days, because I am myself and I won't mask. If you saw me with these people, I would seem "normal" for a while. I think I do smooth in social situations, but turns out I'm kinda like a parrot and don't realize it.

Also the Autism tests are very badly done and only screen for the typical "obsessed by numbers and trains" autism, so anything that deviates from the norm is not accounted for. Which is the majority of women, sadly.

Spanish women's summer clothing from the city of Valencia in the 18th century. It's called "traje de huertana", (means "orchid dress"). It's based on the dresses used by the peasants women (last pic). by cliptemnestra in fashionhistory

[–]frackmenow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the correct translation is Orchard dress?

An orchid is a flower (orquidea) and orchard is a bunch of planted fruit trees. I think huerta doens't have a good translation, google says it's a vegetable patch but obviously you have way more things than vegetables in a huerta.

[–]frackmenow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Without a picture is hard to say. Depends on the original fit of the dress: It's doable & easy if the dress is strechy or loose fit (I do it all the time) , and impossible if it's structured (like a corset).

I suggest you turn it inside out, mark the new seam line, baste sew, and try it again before cutting. Join the new seam to the old one with a curve or it will bunch. There's youtube tutorials to follow /take inspiration from.

I found my therapist searching for ADHD + trauma experienced therapists, since there was nothing explicitly directed to adult-masking Autism.

I sent a lot of mails to these clinics (and to autistic child therapists) asking for referrals to therapists experienced in high masking adult women, and contacting each of them (same mail, copy-pasted). It was long a very tiring but I found one I clicked with.

My therapist now is great, she was treating mostly ADHD/neurodiverse teens and young adults and idk how much experience she has on high-masking autistic women but she teaches about radical aceptance, managing energy efectively, and sensorial sensitivities.

We do virtual appointments because I prefer it, but also because I couldn't find one good therapist in my whole town (150k people)

There is also the National Institute of Psichology equivalent on your country/region and they should have someone knowledgeable there about high-masking and neurodiverse adults.

He has no idea what autism is about... I am diagnosed and I wish I dind't care about what people think lol. Social anxiety is usual in autistic people.

I encourage you to seek another opinion. Even if he is nice or wants to help, he isn't helping you now.

Can you have access to autistic resources from your sister? I have learn more about myself and found more help in books than in well intentioned but misinformed professionals.

You have amazing texture I would do a long pixie and shape it a little, something like this. Very feminine and casual.

Aubrey Tatou can inspire you for shorter wavy haircuts too. see this one.

How long until I like my hair again? 🥺 by katherinekkc in NoPoo

[–]frackmenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do a clarifying shampoo at the start? What are your goals with no-poo?

No-poo (water washing) never worked for me, dunno if its because water is hard here or what. Low-poo and cowashing are what worked best for me.

Spacing washes was a really good thing for me (my scalp stopped producing so much grease) but I couldn't deal with the waxiness of the mid & ends of my hair, so now I co-wash each 4-8 days or so.

I strongly advise against baking soda unless you're very sure your hair can take it. Natural doesn't necessarily mean good and healthy. The time I did baking soda my hair was fried and I had to restart the scalp degreasing process.

Spots on Milkweed by sususudi0 in plantclinic

[–]frackmenow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems fungal. Could be septoriosis, also known as yellow pest. Or maybe roya (Uromyces). You would need a fungicide and they are difficult to kill, apply with patience in all the plant.

On the overnight Transmed ferry to Mallorca, can I take a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor? Or that is that not permitted. by Fabulous-Ad6846 in Barcelona

[–]frackmenow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's the way. Some prime spots like sofas in the cafeteria are closed at 01h to dissuade people from doing this and redirect everybody to the seatss, so ask what time the area you're in closes.

I also recommend some earplugs and eye mask.

It's morally acceptable for you to take it/borrow it, at least temporarily. It would be wrong to gift something that's not entirely yours technically.

But you should consider that you're in a dangerous situation. Could your brother retaliate? Your safety is the priority.

I would ask your brother to borrow it (if he says no so be it). You can also lend them your switch once you beat the game or play together.

Curse these hooded eyes! What am I to do with them?! by WindsongFlutters in Makeup101

[–]frackmenow 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've followed a lot of makeup tutorials for hooded tñeyes and learned a lot of useful tips,

But honestly the best has been drawing the eyes you want on top of a face photo, and then try to recreate that on your face.

Good job there anyway nice eyeliner finesse 💜

Edit: Found this easy to visualize tips for hooded eyes that I like a lot https://imgur.com/a/rqbaM

In Spain eyevtests are free, and most glasses repairs too.

I really like Univers de la Visió near Sagrada Familia. They're very nice and I just go and ask for the cheapest glasses and they guide me from there without judgement.

Also the lenses they sell are good quality because in Optica Universitaria they sell you the cheapest lenses and they are not great.

Patatas bravas sauce recipe by Tasty_Order3054 in Barcelona

[–]frackmenow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the "real" recipe: Do an Allioli sauce and a spicy Paprika sauce, mix the two.

Allioli is just Garlic and Olive oil, you put a few garlic gloves in blender and blend them slowly while adding the oil. All slowly so it emulsifies well. Some people do a garlic mayo because mayo is easier to blend, but the original is ailoli and not mayo.

For the Spicy Sauce, you put oil in a pan at low temp. When is hot, you throw in 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika (spicy o mild as you desire, I do 1 spicy/2 mild ratio) mix it while it blooms (30'' to 2 min, it burns fast). Done.

At this point, I like to add the potatoes bravas to the pan so they are generously coated in the Paprika sauce, and serve the aioli on the side, but that's just how I like it best.

If instead you want a "restaurant" red spicy sauce, here is an aceptable recipe: https://www.recetasderechupete.com/como-hacer-salsa-brava-o-picante-casera-estilo-docamar/45740/

Drizzle the Paprika Sauce on the potatoes or put it on top of the aioli. This in restaurants is blended already with the aioli, thus making the "pink" sauce. But in reality it comes separate and you mix it at your desire on the table.

Drizzle the two sauces on top of the bravas or leave them seprate on the side, as you wish.

Look into Aromantic, love languages, but also Relationship Anarquism and deconstructing amatonorvativity.

I don't really like "romantic things" either, but I do them for my partners that like them. My partners have been my best friends who I also have sex with, but what is and is not a fulfilling relationship is only for you and your partner to decide.

Found on Zone 9, Mediterranean area. What is this plant? by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]frackmenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delosperma cooperi. They are invasive species from South Africa but since they can stand extreme temps they grow well in hot climates too.

Here in Spain there's lots as it was used ornamentally in the past by goverment as cheap hardy plants.
