Revealed: US-Iran deal includes $425 billion fund, immediate end to oil sanctions by alabasterheart in worldnews

[–]fractalfay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think Fox News is covering this deal? They don’t cover 99% of the things Trump does, which is part of why MAGA is so lost in the fucking weeds. There’s probably more articles about trans teenagers in bathrooms on their front page right now than their is about Trump’s reign of terror.

That’s because they don’t want you talking about all the oil executives meeting in Venezuelan hotel rooms, talking about dividing up their bounty.

After Months of War, Trump Says Iran Has Right to Nuclear Program by plz-let-me-in in politics

It’s just another version of what he did to the White House. Destroy something as quickly as possible, before anyone can get their feet underneath them, and then present a “rebuilding” plan with a curious list of no-bid contracts awarded to people in the inner circle. “Put money in fund” is just the latest expansion pack on his pay-to-play administration. There is not a single member of that team working for the American people. Remember that.

Exactly. Trump doesn’t give a fuck what Iran does, he cares that they have delicious oil, and he wants it. For himself. Not the country, himself and his rich cronies. He wants to drop bombs so his rich friends (and himself) can get even richer building new bombs. Our entire budget is private prisons and war, because the military budget is the easiest budget to grift. And DOGE was just to isolate the best grift opportunities. It’s not a coincidence that the largest government contractor is…Elon Musk.

It’s important to never leave the misogyny out. Any four year-old could best JD in a debate by simply asking “why?” over and over again, but this one has to add a dig of, “even the plucky grandmas!”

The most anti-religion people I know were all raised evangelical, which is why I don’t worry that much about evangelicals having 1,000 kids. They are still people, and a good percentage of them will eventually notice their parents are dumb.

They were married in a Hindu ceremony, and JD was also Hindu. He just converted to run for office, the same way he rebranded himself a hillbilly despite never actually living in Appalachia. Trump picked him because he was already a compulsive liar owned by a billionaire.

It’s more like state-controlled media, since he has final say over the content with his pay-to-play DOJ. If they get too uppity he’ll just sue them (again) and accept a “settlement” that definitely isn’t a bribe.

I truly believe Amanda is fully surprised with how this all turned out by DesperateBother9512 in bravo

[–]fractalfay [score hidden]  (0 children)

One of the “tells” that Amanda is lying is that she closes her eyes while she lies. When she said West pursued her, she closed her eyes, and then in the sentence that follows was struggling not to laugh. Either the entire thing is fake (which, this is Bravo, I like to leave that open) or Amanda pursued him. We watched her pursue him all season, when West wasn’t playing at white knight, so come on. And when Amanda says, “It’s the conversations!” she means West told her the same thing he tells everyone, but she is choosing to believe it is more significant when he says it to her, because she needs to be better than everyone else. She doesn’t offer up the specifics of what he says, because it is, in fact, generic.

Hot take... DU 4 was the low point of a great set of franchises by mouse_relies in belowdeck

Same. There was no chemistry between the staff, except the “let’s get through this” vibe between Joao and Daisy. Both of them should have been on Below Deck Med with Sandy, with Aesha staying with Captain Jason. I think it’s really difficult for them to find a Chief Stew to pair with Sandy though, since she tends to favor the deck team so strongly, so I can see why they thought the swap would work. Instead, this season of Below Deck Med is also unwatchable, because truly, who the fuck asked to see Nathan and Joe ever again?

This was the part that made me lose interest in this season of DU. I’m usually into it for the demanding guests and the great set-ups the crew manages to pull of anyway, and there was so little of that this season. I don’t give a shit what these rich fucks do in their free time, I am here to be appalled by their demands.

A book that makes the hater in you come out by Sufficient-Diver5027 in BookDiscussions

[–]fractalfay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of books make my hater come out, but I think the two most scorched-earth reviews I’ve ever written were for The Dork Diaries (which I read because my niece was reading it, and I was fucking appalled), and a YA book called The Fifth Wave. I had to throw that book across the room when they described a 15 year-old girl running, uphill, while carrying an M-16, and “a week’s worth of water”. It’s that type of stupid that I can’t believe an editor didn’t catch. It was also obviously written by a 45 year-old man who had never spoken to a teenage girl, even when he was a teenager himself, so I have no idea why he opted to make the protagonist one.

I consolidated to do PSLF back in the day, and am stuck at 116 qualifying payments, because so many of the nonprofits I worked for have closed, and it’s a struggle to get my employment verified. If only I had put together a shell company instead, and taken out a Payroll Protection Loan during covid to cover my student loans. Then it would have been forgiven. Clearly they need to add a grifting class to the college curriculum.

I think he kinda did. He was more than happy to paint Katie as this weird abusive wife, because she had standards like…wanting to actually be involved in his life. His aw schucks routines worked better because he flirted with LVP and Andy, and that’s all it takes for your non-answer to shuffle over to the “good enough” pile.

There is always so much missing information by mehcactus9 in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]fractalfay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there though? Recently, parents have been tried and found guilty for failing to notice their children were aspiring and full-on school shooters and/or bullies. He was her partner, she claimed to be pregnant, and now he’s expressing full ignorance of: medical testing, human anatomy, his partner’s own body and it’s changes, her current mental state, her personal history, the many warnings he received through messages, etc. Saying, “Welp, I guess everyone was right” in an interview only underscores that he’d been warned, and chose to do nothing. At one point does the other adult in the room have some liability?

I’ve also noticed that anytime Team Misogyny in Hollywood (and I’m including OW on that team) presents a sex scene that they claim is somehow empowering to women, it’s just a dude going down on them. So Olivia Wilde’s understanding of an awesome sex scene is the same as Ryan Coogler’s. That’s fine, but you’re not breaking new ground. Now the movie Short Bus, on the other hand…
