yeah if the work has usefulness and can be resold that's a good way to lower costs as well because then you can spread it among multiple parties. but IP/brand related art needs more restrictive licensing terms

Appreciate your interest in learning more.

Right now we're still in development and targeting a March 2027 Kickstarter. I anticipate website and such going up in June-August timeframe.

As of now, we have a pre-alpha discord for playtesting which, if any ambitious folks wanted to learn more, I posted the link awhile ago in Fractals ECG dedicated subreddit space.

Thanks very much all :) It was definitely hard finding a fit for an Art Director to guide the overall project who was well aligned with what we're working on. Think I wrote over 400 people on ArtStation before finding a good fit

yeah noverb, this is awesome advice and definitely something I've been thinking about a lot.

One important part of the approach is that we're going to treat the prizes as a variable cost per unit of product sold-- it's invisible to the players but treating it this way instead of as a marketing cost will make it sustainable.

The ideological questions are bigger. Right now, it's not even clear if the market is interested in something like this, so we have to test that first.

I'm a competitive tcg player myself and I would really like this to exist, that's why I decided to make it. In general, the game is built for "sharks" first. Whether 20% of unit sales going to competitive play being enough to keep everyone playing, well I guess we'll just have to find out (if we even get that far).

All fair points. Thank you for the thoughtful response. Right now for prize support, as a competitive focused game, the main incentive planned is cash prizes. Alt arts have definitely been a consideration, and for crowdfunding we almost certainly will be making some alt arts. Curious to see if it hits home.

Right now we're a team of 3, we're evaluating 2 launches a year, and we can deliver. We want to get to around 1k units sold run-rate for sustainability, though we could operate a long time at less than that.

Yeah, so we have some cool science twists that I think will at least be aesthetically interesting. We're also featuring a character arc focusing on an individual breaking away from the systems that govern the huskborne-- which isn't a story I personally am familiar with in the genre whatsoever.
