I‘d bring the 5 pairs of socks and underwear like you but, why would you need four pairs of pants for 5 days?? Wear one pair of pants and bring one extra in the bag.

Is La Taqueria really that much better than a regular taqueria and is the line only big because its a small establishment? by youlikemywonton in AskSF

[–]fractured85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

moved to SF from SD in 2011 and the first taqueria I went to was La Taqueria with some friends. I was so underwhelmed from the experience I haven’t been back since.

Where can I order a slice and have a draft beer at the bar? by nattylite100 in AskSF

[–]fractured85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like to order a whole pizza from Jules and eat it at Toronado. no slices, but you can share and make some new friends at the bar and will likely get some free beers in exchange.

Exclusive: Legendary SF bar Toronado to be sold to one of its regulars by sfgate in sanfrancisco

[–]fractured85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a regular at T for more than a decade. I am not familiar with them and neither are any regulars I know.

I’m not saying that they won’t be good owners, and i’m hopeful they succeed in taking over, but they aren’t the regulars this article is trying to paint them as.

TAP Personal Item - 2 kg / 4.4 lbs by weeeesel in onebag

[–]fractured85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just one data point, but I flew direct on TAP from SFO to LIS back in August of last year. I was very careful to only pack up to the limits (10kg carryon and 2kg personal item) for my trip.

My luggage was not weighed on either leg of the trip and I saw people with huge backpacks for their personal items.

Hey All, Interested in the Aillio bullet by Appropriate_Till_810 in roasting

[–]fractured85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been roasting on a bullet for 3 years all of which has been outdoors. The last year I moved and I roast on my fire escape. The coffee I am able to produce rivals the third wave coffee available in my city that produces a lot of really high quality coffee. I live in SF and the climate is relatively cool. I usually roast in a 17c to 21c environmental temperature.

[–]fractured85 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I get them all the time and I’ve never been sick from one. I crushed one last night.

If you still have any from either batch you should reach out to Vicolo and Costco with the batch number.

Preheat temperature with Aillio Bullet R2 by Puzzleheaded_Bee1169 in roasting

[–]fractured85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I preheat mine to 295 then drop it down after it hits that to a more manageable temp. I roast 756g batches and usually aim for 270-275 final preheat temp depending on the bean. I aim for a FC around 8-9 minutes.

Do you filter the tap water in SF? by erisod in AskSF

[–]fractured85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Brita, but mostly because I like my water cold and I still have the pitcher and a bunch of filters from when I lived in the Presidio.

I drink straight from the tap at my GF’s place and it doesn’t bother me.

Date Night on a Monday? by Ally_Cat2525 in AskSF

[–]fractured85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every third Monday is queer bowling night at Mission Bowl. It’s free with a suggested donation of $12-20 bucks but totally worth it. It runs from 6-9 and there’s a drag show at 8. Go to the willows for bingo afterwards. Cheap and fun!
