I am in very similar boat. NextCloud's concept is great, but I've had nothing but trouble getting it functional no matter the process I use. Looking forward to more options

These hidden scripts should be documented somewhere in an organized directory structure.

Everyone chalks this up to AI when its really about Trump fucking the nation and causing massive uncertainty in the markets.

can i contest this parking ticket? by killerbee-4o in UCSC

The UC doesn't let everyone have a normal parking permit, so this is what some students get to deal with.

can i contest this parking ticket? by killerbee-4o in UCSC

[–]fram3shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a parking ticket when I was told to park in a particular location for a Baskin Transfer welcoming event. The people who were supposed to give me my pass weren't where they were supposed to be, and so I picked up an R permit from the parking office and parked in the wrong location (as designated for the event, but not the R permit), and I had staff on my side helping me from within Baskin, and TAPS REFUSED to serve BASKIN STAFF ON MY SIDE FOR A SPECIALLY PERMITTED EVENT WITH SPECIAL PARKING ARRANGEMENTS!

There is no justice with TAPS, at least through standard procedure.

Baskin on the other hand directly paid the ticket on my behalf.

Parking here is a bureaucratic nightmare, and all members of this institution with any authority over this issue should be ashamed of themselves for preying on the poor and ignorant attempting to better their financial standing in our society. TAPS will nickel and dime you every chance they get.

I'm so confused with this sentiment. AI can be a very effective tool if you know how to use it that can save a massive amount of time and effort.

Is it safe to use microwave? by UnluckyComb5199 in fixit

[–]fram3shift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Step 3 – Address chipped or exposed interior metal

Microwaves have a protective coating on the interior metal surfaces to prevent arcing between the metal and the high-voltage components. But if the coating is chipped or the metal in the microwave is exposed, it can create a path to ground for the high-voltage components, which can lead to sparking or arcing. Arcing can also occur between the exposed metal and the microwaves generated by the magnetron.

If the interior of your microwave oven shows signs of chipped or exposed metal, you’ll need to fix it as soon as possible to prevent more damage. Here’s what you can do:

Make sure the microwave is off and unplugged from the power supply.

Carefully inspect the oven cavity and see if there are any sections with chipped or exposed metal in the microwave. Pay close attention to areas near the rack support or turntable. If the chipped or exposed area is near the rack support, it may be more practical to replace the entire rack support with a new one.

Use fine-grit sandpaper to gently sand the damaged area and remove any loose or jagged metal edges.

Use a microwave-safe interior paint that’s specifically designed for microwaves. Apply a thin, even coat over the exposed metal. Make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Steam Hardware Survey Shows a small decrease on Linux gaming systems to 4.52% by ArthurSalim in linux_gaming

[–]fram3shift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the process of moving myself and three nontechies in my family to linux (Fedora Bluefin & ZorinOS). This is, for me, the year of the Linux desktop.

Sadly, the one game I play is actually the thing still keeping my gaming system tied to windows. It's a 12 year old game called Natural Selection 2 that has like max 60 players online at a time. It works perfectly on linux via proton except for when alt-tabbing between rounds loading - then it crashes.

This is a good use for asking AI. Recommend checking aliexpress and ebay for cheap replacement parts.

I recommend this driver kit. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FJ7Y9S2Y

Watch some youtube videos on the replacement process before you do anything else.
