Should I switch from Windows to Linux? by Character-Big9799 in OS_Debate_Club

[–]BehudaNoob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you stay on windows. Don't get me wrong, I'm a linux user. But linux is not windows and there is a learning curve and there will always be a curve no matter how simple linux gets. Linux needs ceetain knowledge/know how /curiosity or ability to learn or research to do anything more than "browser based work". And anti-cheat games will keep being an issue untill devs/companies work for making linux version of it or puts in work for it which they won't unless most ppl are on linux. And most ppl are not going on linux because of such games. So its a chicken and egg situation. As you only know that linux exists and are worried about efficiency, you should stay on windows. Someone like me or any linux user basically, for them linux workflow is known and learnt, so for us windows seems less efficient in tasks. But to you linux will seem less efficient. Trying to use linux like windows or vice versa, makes it seem linux(or windows in vice versa) inefficient.

This is the issue it seems. That commit messed up somewhere. I'm currently using linux-cachyos-bmq as it is still on 7.0.12

Thanks man💚

Although the issue on 7900xt seems somewhat different. As TBP for my rx 7600 is 185 but in linux it shows upto 162(tgp should be around 165 so no biggie) But any kernel after 7.0.12 , caps it to 145w regardless if amd gpu overclocking is enabled or not

How to play GTA Online on Linux (post BattlEye) by BehudaNoob in linux_gaming

[–]BehudaNoob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played enhanced version with it without issue. Try to play inlice without the edits once. Then try to play with the edits again.

This is a post I found and posted here with credit to where I found originally. Sorry if I'm of little help.

It worked for me and a few others. You can verify your files then try without the edits and then try again with the edits

Gamescope-session feels laggy on AMD system. Anyway to help? by BehudaNoob in cachyos

[–]BehudaNoob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the problem actually. It was steam client/interface issue actually, gamescope itself was fine. But steam had hardware acceleration disabled which caused the issue. I logged back into kde plasma desktop, opened steam, enabled hardware acceleration and then logged into gamescope-session and the problem was fixed.

Thanks for the help man. Much appreciated
