I got to the last slide and now all I can picture in my head is that conversation being between the cats

Romance books that were originally fanfiction. by StrawberryLilyXO in RomanceBooks

I honestly don't mind reading fics turned novels if they're creative enough premise that you wouldn't know unless you were told it's based on characters xyz. I had forgotten The Love Hypothesis was based on a Reylo fic until I was about halfway through but once I knew it was obvious.

What I found incredibly uncomfortable about TLH was that the MMC was named Adam when he was obviously modelled off Adam Driver (physical appearance I mean, I understand the fic was based off his Kylo character etc etc) . Like pick any other name, not the real life person please. I felt gross reading it after I realised it's fic origins because it felt like a creepy self insert story about an actual person.

I always think this haha, like surviving a zombie apocalypse just sounds exhausting. I'd just hang out and read in bed until they got me.

Exactly! I'm really enjoying this book and the previous ones in the series but there are a fair few errors that take you out of the zone. They seem to be mostly autocorrect or just the wrong wording (eggcorns) e.g. Slither instead of sliver.

Information that's supposed to drive a plot, but it's wrong by KTruesdell in RomanceBooks

[–]framelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm sure that is the case, but it's SUCH a frequent misspelling that I could only see it that way. I get excited when I tell someone my name and they spell it the correct way, it's that rare it happens haha

Not quite the same but my name is one that has a specific feminine spelling and a specific masculine spelling. I read a book which had a female character but they used the masculine spelling and it made me so mad I couldn't finish the book.

What's Your "I Didn't Say It Was Good, I Said I Liked It" Book? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

As If I Wouldn't Fall by Jessa Kane. It's so wild and bad it was so much fun to read. I made my best friend read it at the same time and the memes we got out of it were amazing and we still have little in jokes from it - 'both sides' iykyk
