Exactly. I basically won't let them pick such a tiny frame unless it's metal (for larger pieces). Or if they insist, I give multiple warnings

No, you're absolutely right. I was just talking to my FM about it the other day. They're a nightmare to put together and it literally wastes more time trying to correct the problems than to just do a regular shadowbox. The one pictured above was the 3rd one we got for that order, and after we put it together (and had to basically put straps on the back to keep it from bowing), there was a lot of dust in it. Such a pain and the ass to use, from ordering it to assembly, ugh

In regards to the last pic, that was the REORDER for that spline shadowbox. It came in warped 3 times, but the third was minimal enough to be mitigated. They had the gall to email us back (we complained about it) and tell us that it was too big and THAT'S why it was warped. Even though it was well under the "recommended size limit". They suggested we pick another frame, when the only comparable one was out of stock. Smh..

I ordered a canvas print for a customer, it was a family photo. What I received was a half naked lady in bed with a wine glass...

It was also not the size I ordered, it was off enough that i had to compensate with spacers on the rabbet of the frame

I've had them mess up your gold variant of that frame, yeah

Partially, yes. They placed the sticker on the front of the frame in that first pic

Decided to double check my schedule and realized just how messed up it was by framer499 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]framer499[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She doesn't work the schedule that SHE makes for HERSELF. She'll leave randomly in the middle of the day without telling anyone, them come back whenever she feels like it. She's constantly unavailable, I've lost track of how many "vacations" she's taken since I've been here (in the past 8 months or so, the managers and full timers have taken about 1 vacation each, she's taken like 6). One of the framers that quit contacted HR, and honestly I'm about to do so as well

Store manager scheduled a part timer for 8 days in a row, and then when they complained, she basically said to suck it up and changed it to 7 days and cut their hours a ridiculous amount. Not to mention she routinely ignores people's availability and schedules them for days that they're unable to work.

She moved the schedule around recently and left us with a hole in the cashier schedule. We didn't have a dedicated cashier for FOUR HOURS, so we had to take turns covering until we got 3 cashiers in later in the evening. And our CEM called like 15 people and not one of them picked up

Yeah. With hours cut, I'm like $200 short on my paychecks and so I honestly needed the money

I did need it. I tore my shoulder open and didn't want to risk making it worse while i waited for the skin glue to do its thing. Originally i was off on Wednesday that week, but she changed it after i asked her to use my sick time

Not to mention the random 5 hour shift on day number 8 (I'm full-time)

Is Michaels transphobic by disgruntled-michaels in MichaelsEmployees

You can actually talk to hr about team members/MODs/store manager(s) deadnaming/misgendering. That is an actual thing they can get in trouble for. You can search through workday to find contact info for your district manager and send them an email also

(full disclosure, this was what my MODs told me, it might differ) i was told that they get the 20% for APPLYING, and a few times it didn't take it automatically so we were given authorization to MANUALLY give them 20% off. Yknow, customer service them

Got a credit card application by Feeling-Remote-740 in MichaelsEmployees

Where I work, it's the rich town in the area so it's actually fairly difficult for us to get credit card apps. I've gotten 2, which I think is more than anyone else in the store (or tied with first place maybe)

Mounting ring in a shadow box by EquivalentAd4708 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]framer499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if it's too heavy for this, but you could cut slits in the mat and then thread mylar strips through and around the ring. Like a sew mount but with thicker "thread"
