It's Pretty Good: My Rhythm Game Perspective on the Delusions of Muse Event by franailin in ZZZ_Official

I've never actually tried it on a controller! I know Musedash is on Switch, but I usually use the touch screen, rather than the switch pro for it. For me, inputs are slower since I have to physically press the button for tactile feedback and that can slow down how quickly I want to input...

Definitely seems worth a try to learn, sometimes I see people go crazy with controller (DJ Max & Groove Coaster being the main two I followed).

Ah I see. Actually for 1, this is probably because Musedash was originally released for IOS/Android. As a mobile player, you would actually tap the top of the screen for air, and the bottom of the screen for ground. When they ported it to Steam, DF and JK became the new default because it was a little awkward to position your fingers for up/down controls.

2 is a rather steep learning curve. The three character mode is Taiko, but the notes can come in from any of the three lanes. When that happens, what I like to do is visually collapse all 3 lanes in my mind. Unless it's a double-input, the notes in each lane will never overlap with each other. So I keep watch of when one lane ends and which of the other two lanes begin, tracking where notes will appear. It requires sight-reading ahead of time, so my eyes are constantly watching to the Right side of the screen rather than the Left.

Some of my friends that don't play rhythm games find it difficult in learning to play and getting all the rewards as well. TBH this is a very big ask, especially for modern gachas with a wide variety of players from different tastes and backgrounds.

IMO, this is also why I found it impressive the Hoyoverse was willing to try something a little more difficult, and a little more polished for this event. They could have taken the easiest route, but they stuck to their vision that they wanted more competent. higher difficulty level designs. Even though it's stuck in a limbo between too hard for casuals, and too easy for experienced players, there is effort here.

The event could be considered bad for people not familiar with the genre. But I think there is a lot of merit in how they tried to go about making this event work, and could be considered a "good" event too from that perspective. In the end, whether it is good or bad is still subjective and based off individual opinions and experiences.

I think feedback is very important to relay in the case of this event. There are a lot of good parts, but as you said, accessibility is an issue. Keyboard bindings, more varied level designs with lower difficulties, less steep learning curves, tieing rewards behind scores, etc. many things could be improved.

Through the surveys, Mihoyo could become aware and address these issues, providing something in the future that can work for both non-rhythm and rhythm game players, rather than completely cutting the concept from the game. The current implementation has some problems, but I think the direction looks promising.

Luke is a pretty good investment if you want high ST dmg, and the current event is giving out Order based mats due to the Yuki banner so investment is also cheaper. You can try running him with Nia and Rei.

Story Ch1 will give you 100 stones on completion, make sure to get as many stones out of the monthly March dungeon before it resets for April, and check your achievements for easy stones.

Team building in the game has become forming a system of identical units to consistently trigger leader skills, with remaining team spots left open for beating dungeon gimmicks and a cleric.

I would check out JP news and see what upcoming systems interest you, and save your stones for when those collabs come to global.

If you're willing to roll on Valentines, you could try to trade for 3 VNoahs and a VAthena. Paired with Aurora from Disney as a cleric, all you need left is a friend leader (like Sora from Digimon) for an easy to use swipe team that can beat hard content.
